Higgins populates her book (and the island) with some wonderful characters. There's Nora's mother who is the sentimental owner of a bird (Tweetie) who she treats better than her children, but could easily butcher a deer. There's Poe, Nora's blue haired, sullen teenaged niece who has a thing for sewing. There's Sullivan, who runs the docks where Nora is living; he's, the mostly deaf, potential love interest (if Nora can figure out her Boston boyfriend). There's Audrey, Sullivan's daughter who desperately wants to be Poe's friend.

Now That You Mention It will bring you to your knee because it will bring real issues going on in anyone life and how much it can affect a people but slowly they will overcome it. And Nora does but it takes time. And readers will get to know her story and fall in love with her character too.

Nora has worked so hard for her career that she left her hometown and never came back. But things changed when she gets a reality check. She literally gets run over but she is okay. However, she realizes that there are some things that need to be changed in her life which she heads back home and fix her relationship with her mother. She also dumps her boyfriend which is given since he does not deserve her whatsoever.

Nora had a tough childhood that she lost on parent during childhood which made her responsible for taking of the household and her sister. It may take too much toll on her but she made it work. I love her dedication in winning the highest award at her high school because she always knew what she wanted to be but her household was tight that she will need to work harder in order to get herself into the school. But her winning the award made the town very angry since they claimed that she stole from the golden boy which is untrue.

She is going to face some angst when she returns home. But she has grown up and she does not care anymore. She is determined to be home and work on her relationship. Yes, it going to take some time but it is always worth it. It will come to some challenges that you feel bad for her. But she is always determined to get up again and make it work. She is a strong independent woman that people are going to take notice.

Now That You Mention It will bring you the best hope whenever you are trying to discover yourself again and mend relationship too. Five Stars.
