This short story before The Atlas Six was alright but I am not quite sure if it means anything for the actual book. I thought that it was good to see an insight into their normal lives a little bit and I think that this little blurb gave them some added personality before I actually started reading the duology so I could pick up on certain characteristics and start to remember their names. However, this was so much information in so little time and it felt a little rushed, as if it was just thrown in to be there. I feel like this would have been a lot better if it was stretched out to be longer, that way we could really get to know the characters since it is supposed to come before The Atlas Six. I'm sure I will appreciate it more after I read the actual duology but as of now I'm just confused.

Jesus Christ if I have to read one more nicolibby rant… the enemies to lovers trope & the tiktoktification of literature have rendered us useless and unable to see the real character of Nico & Libby’s interactions… to y’all saying old married couple may I present you: siblings. Literally, siblings. Complementary. Spiteful, derisive, ironic, but ultimately 100% there & ready to both support each other and stand together. As siblings do. Or if the whole trope thing is so important: enemies to reluctant friends? What’s better than. 2 characters who clearly hate each other but complement each other so they decide to cooperate through gritted teeth. Give me that. Hate doesn’t have to turn into love. It can be annoyance, resistance, immaturity. Let them exist as the flawed, very human people that they are. 
The only love I see here is Gideon’s immeasurable love of Nico thank you very much 

Also I love Callum. He’s truly the gift that keeps on giving
