although reading parts of it (specially war bits with extreme gore) was essentially torture, I can totally see why this is a classic that is still read and talked about today. 
it’s epic and sad and filled with amazing complex characters. it’s a love story and a tragedy and low key a Olympian gods sitcom at times.
I loved the dialogue and every characters’ inner motives for a useless, endless war.

also it made me want to go out fight some trojans decide hey i’m not fighting anymore see ya lose the love of my life to my own pride and selfishness ask for our ashes to be mixed so we can never be apart kill the guy who killed my babe and drag his body for days… spoiler alert for a thousand year old book tho.
