Review:

Titles mean a lot when you first pick up a book. They are the first things you read when you grab a book. A good title means everything to a book. When I first finished reading this one, the title didn't make much sense. I honestly can say I still don't quite understand the title in relation to the book. 

Describing this book in one word isn't hard. Terrifying. However not in the usual sense of the word. When you think of terror I bet you think of horror movies with the monsters and the creepy ghosts. This book shows terror in a different way. A way that Richards does a nonunique storyline justice. 

Really the storyline is not unique, it has been done before, many times. However, Richards gives it a great go. She gave it merit.

Richards did not give the reader a lot of character development or background information on the characters. Rather she shoves the reader into the action. Action that is fast passed and at sometimes, hard to follow. 

Richard leaves much to the reader's imagination in this novel.

I really enjoyed this book! It was one of those where you were constantly wondering who is behind what is happening. I honestly didn't guess who it was until the last 30 pages or so. It became obvious after that though!

This is a nice book if you want a bit of suspense and some romantic feelings but don't want to be consumed by a book. I felt okay setting this book down after a chapter or two, looking forward to reading it again without feeling like I had to finish it right there!

Another one down. I loved this but the main character was really working my nerves. She was more focused on things that were trivial than what needed to be focused on until it mattered. The story was amazing and gave me the hunt or be hunted vibes. It reminds me of a movie but I can’t place which one, but I still loved this book and the fact that it had me from the beginning. It had me guessing the entire time and I didn’t know who to trust. That’s what I love about books like these.

My review: This is a pretty good book. It’s a very fast read and it stayed interesting the whole time. I saw the twist coming but I didn’t see the motive coming. Some of the characters are a little annoying but other than that it was pretty enjoyable

This book was okay. While I really enjoyed the mystery murder aspect of it I found the romance and her constant struggle of not becoming her mother pretty unnecessary. Just seemed to be a weird thing to worry about with everything else that’s going on in the story. All in all a good book and a good spooky read for October.

One Was Lost is a novel about four teenagers who are on a senior camping trip in the Appalachian Mountains, when something deadly starts to happen, and they have to figure out why they were chosen, who is doing it, and will they be able to survive it. This was an amazing audiobook to listen to at night, and came closest to scaring me (which I think was due to the fact that I listened to it at night).

Sera, Lucas, Jude, and Emily are the four featured characters, although there are initially three other characters who get separated from them, and their teacher who is unconscious for almost the entire book. I wasn't really a fan of how that was handled and I didn't completely see the point, although there is a reason in the book - I just found it unnecessary. There is also a romantic aspect to the story between Sera and Lucas, and I am torn about how I feel regarding this. I like romances in YA suspense/mystery books and feel like it could have worked, but it didn't. I just didn't feel the chemistry between the characters.

One of the big things I hated in this book, without giving away anything, is how small the forest felt. No matter how many days or how far the characters walked, it felt like they were in the same place because of some things that were happened that I just felt would be very unlikely, almost nearly impossible.

I was satisfied with the ending, and I did figure out who was doing the "hunting" early on and which slightly ruined the ending for me. I still really enjoyed reading this book, and I do look forward to reading more books by Natalie D. Richards.
