           Oh buddy. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Atticus because in the first two books he was….a bit of a stuffed shirt. But I ended up LOVING him. An insecure psychopath? Absolute catnip. 
What I really loved about this book in particular was that, unlike the first two, Atticus was the submissive partner and Jericho was the dominant. They complimented each other SO well. Atticus needed someone to take control for him and Jericho needed to have control. 

What I love so much about all of Onley’s books is that the relationship dynamic is different in each one. In Unhinged and Psycho, we had August and Adam who were the dominant, aggressive partners. In Moonstruck, Atticus, even though he’s the oldest Mulvaney brother, is the softer of the two MC’s. Atticus really needed someone to show and give affection to him without really realizing that’s what he wanted. Until Jericho gave it to him. So good. 

Also, the peek we got at Jericho’s merry band of criminal vigilantes was so so so good. He’s like Vigilante Peter Pan with his own group of lost boys. I know she’s mentioned a spin off about them and I, for one, will gobble that up in two seconds flat. 

Of course when it comes to the plot, there’s always a fantastical, over the top villain/villains. However, they never feel cartoon-like. Onley tackles real world problems like black market dealings, trafficking, and drugs in a way that feels real and sobering without coming across as melodramatic. They feel real and scary and less mustache twirling train track villain like I’ve seen in so many other stories. 

For books about psychopaths, murder, and trauma, this series still finds a way to feel so hopeful. I love seeing the villains get theirs. It’s always so satisfying. 

So much was set up for future books and I believe a spin-off series with Jericho’s boys! I lived for the hints about Thomas and Aiden. Also, seeing the setup for a possible Felix/Avi pairing (which I feel very strongly is going to happen) has me hype!! Their dynamic in this book was *chef’s kiss* good. 

This has been my favorite series of the year.
