Incredible Story Marred by Mediocre Writing

I really wanted to like this book. I kept looking for ways to redeem it. But in the end, I was just left disappointed.

The spice could have been more refined and needed some serious editing.

The narration style was not consistent nor fluid.

The pacing varied in ways that made the timeline confusing for the reader. I couldn't tell over the course of how many days/weeks/months the story took place.

The characters and their development lacked severely. While I appreciated the OCD representation in this book, Miles was not well-written. He could have been such a layered, complex character, but instead he fell flat. Bebe had so much potential in the beginning, but again, her arc fell flat.

Honestly, this book felt both too long and too short. 

I hope that this author works on their writing and editing. I would really love to see a revised version of this book come out.
