I DNFed this book at 50%, which says a lot coming from someone like me who usually struggles through a book just to finish it. I’m honestly relieved I didn’t go out and buy this and only borrowed the audiobook from Libby.

I couldn’t care less about any of the characters and was just sticking around to find out the “whodunnit” at the end. But I didn’t even make it that far—I ended up just looking it up.

I was also surprised by the mention of sex in this murder mystery, especially how often it came up. I’ve actually never read a murder mystery where the author talks about sex this much.

Another thing that got old fast was how often the author went on and on about the harsh climate and how people wouldn’t be able to leave once the weather set in. Like—OK, we get it.

Overall, I’m giving this book a 1-star rating. I hope I enjoy the author’s other books more.

I always enjoy reading Lucy Foley's thrillers, and this one didn't disappoint. I liked the friend dynamics in this story, and the likeable-unlikeable characters. Only knocking off one star because I figured out the twist before the end.
