Oh my gosh, this book.  THIS BOOK!  This book will forever hold a dear place in my heart. It's relatable and has such a powerful message about self esteem and confidence. So many women out there struggle with body image issues. They don't think that they are good enough or pretty enough. With the way social media is and how Photoshop is literally everywhere, it's really no surprise that this is becoming a very sad trend. 

This book follows the story of Willow. This poor girl has been through so much. She has a step dad this is so verbally abusive, it's amazing he was able to get away with it. She has the "perfect" sister who also criticizes her almost as bad as her step dad. Her soon to be ex husband cheated on her when she started to gain weight. Willow was not in a good place at all and it was really heartbreaking to see that.

Through the help of therapy, medication and her two best friends, Willow attempts to make it through life and become the Willow she is supposed to be. She loses some weight and stops with the eating habits that led her to where she was in life. She stops letting people walk all over her. She becomes more and more positive as each day progresses. She then meets Kane and her life turns around...when she is finally ready to make that leap. 

I think that a lot of women can benefit from reading this book. In the preface, the author stated that she was just like Willow. She suffered and still continues to suffer through self esteem issues. She hopes that with this book, women can finally stop seeing the flaws and start seeing themselves as perfectly imperfect. I love when authors add their own personal history into their books. It makes them much more relatable.

I think that this is a fantastic thought. We all need to strive to see ourselves as perfectly imperfect. It's totally okay that you have some curves on yours hips or you don't have a thigh gap. Your imperfections is what makes you beautiful. I have a scar on my lip that I used to hate but now it's one of my most favorite features about myself. It makes me unique and original. 

I have yet to see this but if I looked hard enough I bet I could find some backlash about this book. I can see people start complaining that in order to feel beautiful, you have to find a man and that this is the message of the book. This is not true. When Willow met Kane, she was already on her way to higher self esteem and becoming a more positive person. Meeting Kane was just a plus. She could have been the person that she became without his help.

 Do yourself a favor and read this incredible book.

I liked it but at times I felt like Willow was a teenager instead of a woman in her thirties.

A hash tag has never been more true than the one above! I knew going into this book I was going to have a strong connection to the heroine, Willow. I just didn't realize how strong it would be. I found myself feeling like I was reading what was in my own head and it was kind of scary. I have always been and still am very hard on myself. It is something that I struggle with and honestly I don't know if I will ever overcome it, but Willow has given me some hope through her story with Kane. It was amazing reading how he helped her see that her imperfections were what made her perfect to him. The confidence she exudes by the end of the story is infectious. I have no doubt in my mind that their story is going to touch a lot of people just as it has touched mine!!
