The Unveiling

There were a couple things that had me wanting to DNF but I pulled the plug at

"...Striker felt cowardly and looked away, already tired at the prospect of having to constantly wrangle Bobbi Sue’s uterus back to a fixed position."

because god forbid a woman in the Antarctic watch her guide die, get stranded and separated from her son and husband, and react 'hysterically' (a word that Striker also calls her, by the way. but it's fine! because she acknowledged the bad history that word has when applied to women!)

the way this was written didn't work for me either. there are no chapters just page breaks, which usually I don't care about, but, combined with the sudden switches to the past or whatever supernatural stuff was going on, sometimes in the middle of a paragraph, I had moments where I had to go back and reread entire sections
