What happens when a man drops his phone over a bridge and meets a troll? This was an interesting take on bridge troll fairy tales and well worth the read.

I really like Rainbow Rowell’s writing and stories, and have read basically all she wrote so far.
I decided to read this one now as it was free on Amazon Prime, and it was so quick which I liked.
The whole story is definitely a metaphor, I believe about society and how we tend to stick to a system that seems to work and we enjoy, but that has huge flaws that we consciously overlook. In that, I found it funny and interesting to read, and I thought it cool to find out a bit about this weird world. What I really didn’t get was the amount of Starbucks references, but they didn’t bother me too much.

What bothered me was the ending. What does that mean???

I had so many issues with this short story! First of all I HATED the writing 'style' - it was so simplistic it bordered on lazy, really choppy, repetitive and condescending. Exact quote: "His heart jumped. (He had a heart)" - Like what? This happened every time a body part got mention too.

I'd also read some reviews when I was a couple of pages in and didn't quite believe the Starbucks complaints but MY GOD. If this author didn't get paid for everytime she said 'Starbucks' - 15 times in 25 pages btw.
