Still the same narrative voice I've always loved but the ending felt a bit anticlimactic... or unresolved. Overall, it's still an enjoyable book that I found difficult to put down. Not much quotes here though.

Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble. That its been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply but that almost seems besides the point now.Maybe that was always besides the point.

This book is very different from all Rainbow Rowell books. I felt it was more realistic in portraying the ups and downs of marriage. When sometimes one person in the marriage sacrifices more than the others. It is a little more darker than her other light hearted books that she has done in the past. I actually really enjoying Georgie and Neal story. I felt that Neal character was very realistic not a lot of people are very outspoken or extrovert. However, seeing how their love story developed and their backstory was sweet. 

The only reason I gave it 4 stars i felt the beginning was a little slower. Also there were certain things in the book I felt it didn't add anything to Neal and Georgie story. The end felt a little rush, I would had liked a little more insight what happened afterwards. Overall it was a good entertaining book.

I have been waiting for a love story about a long-term relationship for so long. Love stories in books always seem to be about starts, or starting over. New people in your life, new relationships. They are beautiful and I love them and obviously I'd never diminish their value, because to be in a long-term relationship you'd have to start somewhere. But then you are in that place where the butterflies don't live in your stomach anymore and you are so used to the person with you, and you go to books and it's like they are telling you to go look for something new, more thrilling, like there is something better waiting for you, just like it happens with the character in the book. This is a very real story, I think, about how there can be love and it still won't be enough if you don't fight for it. And also to illustrate how you can fall in love again and again with the same person if you're willing to, no matter how old you are (I don't know, but YA kind of makes me feel like being in love and all the butterfly-in-the-stomach thing only happen to you if you're young - which I believe/hope is a lie).

This book pulled at my heart strings, that's for sure. It took me a little bit to get into the story but after a few chapters I couldn't put the book down and found myself loving dog walks because it meant that I got extra reading time in. I grew really attached to Georgie and deeply wanted her to save her marriage. This book is beautifully written and I ate up every single word. Can't recommend this book enough!

I really, really liked this book! I don't read a lot of books these days that I feel enough engagement in to read in one sitting, but this one gripped me from beginning to end, and I finished it in one short evening. 

I loved the relationships portrayed and the real life questions that Georgie dealt with.

 I feel like a lot of authors don't like to have their characters deal with gritty situations like in this book, but in reality, the realism of the situation and the love shown even through the tough situations between characters is what made this book and the story so engrossing.

This was a really cute read (as is everything Rainbow Rowell writes). The only reason it's not 4 stars is because there were parts I had to force myself not to skim through. Other parts, however, I was completely engrossed in!

Oh, this was an especially heartbreaking disappointment. I loved the cover and wanted to fall in love with the characters but that didn't happen. They just seemed to go through the motions and the dialogue felt forced. I read and only just before it ended wondered how Rowell would wrap things up. Meh. 2.5 stars.

I’ve been itching to get my hands on her latest work, but I haven’t found the time to and the reviews really didn’t sound too convincing. To be honest, I heard a lot of negative feedbacks and I just simply didn’t want to waste effort on a book that would just disappoint me in the end. And I guess I was also kind of scared that Landline might ruin Rainbow Rowell for me. 

	Thank goodness it was just as good as the others. One thing I deeply admired about Miss Rowell was that her books weren’t very similar to each other, although a few parallels are unavoidable. But one thing in common is that she writes about love in the different the stages in our lives, Eleanor and Park for our first love, Fangirl for the college memoirs, Attachments for the post-grad feels, and finally, Landline for the middle aged, family life. This woman can write just about anything. You never know what to expect from her, but every single time, her book keeps me up at night. She writes about the stuff that happen to people everywhere, everyday, and yet she weaves the story into something more than that. The way she writes love not just in the good parts, but all the mess that comes with it. She makes love feel real and true and alive. Every single time, she never fails to reach out her readers. I’m still a freshman in college, but Attachments and Landline spoke to me on a personal level the way her other works did. I truly love her familiar narrating, straight to the point but passionate and charming. Then those beautiful little passages that come out of nowhere and gets you right in the feels. She has a knack for creating wonderful, realistic characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with. In fact, all her male protagonists make it to my top 20 favorite fictional boys. Neal Grafton is especially swoon-worthy (let’s ignore the fact that he’s a married, middle-aged adult), the perfect thoughtful husband I always wanted to end up with. And then there’s the witty dialogue and her references to pop culture. 

I like to think I’m one of those cynics who don’t believe in love that last for a lifetime. I never really grasped the idea of being tied down to someone for the rest of your life, the whole marriage concept. But I just can’t help but appreciate the plot. The book started off normally enough, but the plot wasn’t too slow and wasn’t too fast. I liked the slow buildup of events, all through the turning point when she realizes the truth about the landline (or the phonecall?). The magic phone thing could easily have gotten corny and maybe a little bit overrated, like something out of harlequin paperback, but the truth is it worked really nicely for me. The characters were very complicated but very charming. I think Georgie defines a lot of wives (and husbands) out there who take their partners for granted, too absorbed by work to really try. I admire her totally honest portrayal of marriage and bad habits and so many things that could go wrong. Life wasn’t always good. In fact, life wouldn’t be life without the constant turbulence. And love didn’t just last for a lifetime effortlessly. You have to work for it, to earn your happiness. She also made me rethink about a lot of my relationships, with my friends, family.

To find someone to share it with? And if you got that part right, how far wrong could you go?  I can’t help but admire Neal. I can’t exactly picture him in real life, but he sounds perfect on paper. He was exactly the kind of guy who makes his wife’s heart palpitate at the sight of him even after two decades of being together.

MY COLD HEART BELIEVES IN LOVE AGAIN and Rainbow Rowell helped. No other romance author has made me feel so many feelings in so long! In real life love, family, and friendship is messy, and funny, and heartbreaking, and drives you freaking insane and makes you want to get on the first bus out of crazy town - and Rainbow Rowell captured that perfectly here. (I mean personally I feel like she always captures that in her books, but I might be a bit biased). 

Bear with me, the beginning is a bit slow and I will admit that but it's also full of her witty humor and she always does an amazing job of giving her characters actual personalities that I feel like is lacking in a lot of other romance books. Sometimes the girl and guy characters are so blah, like they came from a romance book factory. Georgie is a human being and I could relate to her a lot (I've never been married so not that aspect). The bickering between her, her mother, and sister, the relationship woes with her best friend Seth, how much she loves her daughters and her career, and ultimately (what the book is about) - how to reconnect with her husband when it feels like you've royally fucked up the relationship. 

This book also takes place the week before Christmas, so also a nice holiday read. Ugh, Rainbow Rowell just knows how to make me feel warm and fuzzy inside while also asking important questions about love and relationships, how even when you've been married to someone for years - you still have to work hard on it. 

This book... I like it. A LOT. <3
