This book was pretty good. We never did find out who the Pilot is, which disappointed me cuz I thought it would all loop back and we would know him from somewhere, somehow. Everything ELSE looped back and connected. Like, we finally found out who put Ky in the Matching pool+Cassia remembered the Red Garden Day. We found the cure which connected to something from the first book. Xander ended up with somebody whom we'd heard of in the second book. It all looped back together in a very conspiracy-like fashion that was very amazing. 
This book was a satisfying end to the series.
As far as the series overall goes, I say that the first book was pretty epic, the second was okay, and this one was pretty good.
There were a lot of epic elements in this book, but I think what made me think that it wasn't as epic as the first book is we finally got Xander's POV and he wasn't as badass as Ky and Cassia had led us to believe he was.
overall, a fair book.

The story line wasn't enough to keep me turning the pages. I give up. I don't even wanna know how this would all end. That's how disinterested I got. There's nothing wrong with how it was written. I just... there are books with more oomph that would overthrow this book's story line.

Almost a decade later and I FINALLY FINISH THIS SERIES OHMYGOSH.

I've had this sitting on my shelf since 2012. LET THAT SINK IN. 2012.... 2021... Almost 2022... My goodness it's been a while. The funny part is, I kept staring at this book and said I was going to read it but then just DIDN'T. Why not? Well, life got in the way and I saw some reviews of it and thought "eek... this is going to be a train wreck..." and with all of my hopes and dreams for this book, I didn't want it ruined. So, like any good reader, I pushed it down on my TBR and just never touched it. It collected dust and sat there and waited and waited and waited...

I finally got the nerve to pick it up. I'm trying to clear all of my shelves since I just don't have the room anymore. I figured, why not finish the series and see what happened? Welp, reading about a pandemic during a pandemic definitely wasn't the best idea I've had in a long time, but I honestly forgot what was going on with this book.

Either way, I found it really boring and dull! I thought some big twist in the romance would happen, or some crazy dystopian insanity would pop up... No, just typical pandemic stuff. Felt like I was watching the news but instead it was all teenagers taking the lead.

There's not much there - just 400 pages of "OH MY GOSH FIND A CURE PEOPLE ARE DYING" and that's it. The last couple of chapters finally bring the romance back into it, but 20 pages of a YA dystopian romance seems kind of low? 

Either way, this definitely isn't a series I'll jump back into. It's my own fault for reading it so many years later and during a pandemic (of all times...)

Side note: Does anyone else remember the rumours of Emma Roberts starring in a television series version of this? I WAS SO PUMPED. Guess that's not happening now...

WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK IS UNBELIEVABLE!
WELL THIS LAST BOOK WAS GREAT BECAUSE CONDIE FOUND A SOLUTION FOR EVERYTHING. CASSIA KIND OF REMEMBERED EVERYTHING AND SHE FINALLY FOUND HER LOVED ONES.:)I THINK I LIKED XANDER BETTER THAN KY IN GENERAL. HEHE X)ALTHOUGH WE DIDN'T HEAR SO MUCH OF BRAM, HIS LITTLE BROTHER, HE STILL CAME TO A GOOD END. I BELIEVE.
WELL EVEN THOUGH THIS BOOK WAS KIND OF SAD, IT STILL LEFT ME SATISFIED WITH THE ENDING OF THE WHOLE TRILOGY SERIES.

Summary:  After leaving Society to desperately seek The Rising, and each other, Cassia and Ky have found what they were looking for, but at the cost of losing each other yet again. Cassia is assigned undercover in Central city, Ky outside the borders, an airship pilot with Indie. Xander is a medic, with a secret. All too soon, everything shifts again.

I have always liked Ally Condie's originality. All throughout the trilogy, that always struck me most. Apart from a few very predictable stereotypes *wink*, the plot developed well. 

There were a few boring parts along the way, where the suspense reached it's lowest points. Some plot lines, like the Pilot, the plague and the cure lacked closure for me. I didn't like the way they were resolved, like they were given such a big deal throughout the trilogy only to be thrust at the sidelines at the last moments. 

But apart from that, I guess the book was ok, nothing compared to Matched but still pretty good. Ally Condie's prose still never fails to amaze me after all this time.

I went into this book having no idea what to expect. 
I should've expected amazingness.
This was by far the best book in the trilogy, and I was so happy with the ending! I was not disappointed at all!


Then there was the little twist at the end when my jaw dropped and I just gasped, "THAT'S BRILLIANT!"

You know when you get to the last 100 pages of a book and you cant figure out how all the loose ends are going to be tied up? I must say I was thrilled that not only the central characters to the story had resolution but all the secondary characters did as well. I wasn't left wondering, "well what happened to so and so." Another great trilogy that did not leave me wanting in the end. Loved it!

Good finale to a great series.
This finale had all I wanted it to have: action, twists and not too much of a love triangle. I liked how everything in the end made sense and we weren't left wondering what happened with the characters. 
I was very pleased with this book and highly recommend it to anyone who read the first two.

First of all:  Oh. My. God. 
As much as I felt like [book : Matched] didn't reach its full potential, Reached was the best ending this series could have had! 
(view spoiler)[ I loved the urgency in the narration and these little winks back to our own world. I LOVED how the author switched between Xander, Cassia and Ky for each chapter so that they can all narrate their part in the uprising and the Plague.
Also, the Plague killed me honestly, when the chapters (Xander's most of the time) were focusing too much on the medical aspect of it, I couldn't help but be reminded of Covid-19 right now  and had to put down the book to not be too stressed out. 
 BUT  everything else was perfect for me ! The fast pace between the events, the importance of poetry and creation in times of uncertainty (like honestly right now during this f*cking pandemic), Xander, Laney/Lei, and Cassia finally kicking ass and showing how much of a smartie she really is. 
The ending is not a happily ever after which is also something I really like, they lost family and friends, they are uncertain about the future (without needing a 4th book to bring closure) as they are waiting for the results of the vote to who will rule their world now (Anna got my vote btw (f*ck the Pilot))  (hide spoiler)]
All in all, I love my boi Xander, I love my baby Indie and  this is such a great ending to the series omfg

           Once upon a time, I was going to write a review for this book. That was maybe about five days ago when I had finished the book, but I wanted to take the time to think about the book and collect my thoughts about it. 

There series as a whole wasn't so bad. It could have been worse, and it could have been a lot better. The Rising group was a mediocre rebellion. The Society was a mediocre villain. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book of the series, and it just proceeded to go downhill from there. You root for love to work out, and you end up sitting through a whole novel in between of just walking from point A to point B, with a few things going on inbetween. And then things are thrown in that don't necessarily make sense or connect to anything else in any sort of way. 

To be honest, I can't even remember the proper ending to this story. This chapter of the trilogy just kind of blurred into something that felt like a massive disappointment to a potentially good trilogy. And honestly, the society built into this world is actually pretty tamed compared to others. They fell way too easily to the Rising (which is explained by them having 'infritrated the system already). There was abolutlely no fight for the Rising to take over. None. Nada. Even though, there are still true Society members sitting around watching as a lame ass rebellion group takes them over. 

Cassia and Ky's relationship also fell flat for me. All they can think about in the their sections is each other, and about half of the time, they aren't with each other, or don't know if they're alive, or if they're okay, or whatever. And then Ky becomes "still" and a character tries killing all the patients that are still and being tested for cures all because his daughter was left to die when the village left him in book 2. Which, is kind of shitty, since he had already known that was the circumstance and she wouldn't have made it to the new location and yadda yadda ya.

I just really don't know. It was a boring book of this person loving this person, whos in love with this person, whos not in love with them and all the other dumb love triangles. (I understand it's a story that starts out with love being the premise, but you don't need every other character falling in love with the other.) There was a lot of interesting premises within the novel, but none of them shone as brightly as they could as they were massed by everything else. 

On the plus side, the cover is pretty.

This book was an improvement on Crossed but didn’t quite live up to Matched. 

The huge event we’ve been waiting for in the past two books comes and goes without a second thought. 

There were aspects of the story I liked - the idea of the mutation and the fear in the Society and the Rising. 

The ending was predictable and the characters not very well developed.

HOWEVER everything was tied up with a neat bow at the end - I had no questions about anything. 

I’ve given 3 stars to this book because it wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be... but I wouldn’t recommend this as a trilogy to anyone - use your time on discovering something else instead.

Okay, so I’m gonna be totally honest:

Did I loved it?-Yess
Did my club for fictional boyfriends increased?-Yup
Would I recommend it?-Definitely!
Did I cried?-Only a little... Okay, not so little...
Did it kept me awake till 1 AM?-For three days straight! Or four?! 

Those books were so, so beautiful!!! The writing was so amazing and I have no idea how many highlights I’ve made. But I can say, they were a lot. I’m gonna miss the characters sm, with this book I became even MORE attached to them. 

Okay, it’s midnight rn, and I’m very sleepy, after all, those three days I haven’t slept much BECAUSE OF THAT PRECIOUS BOOK and besides, I don’t know what more to say about this book. Everything was so beautiful and through the whole book there were answers, so many answers I needed to know and they kept me turning pages and pages until my eyes began to hurt. 

Those books taught about love, trust, hope and so much more... All those relationships and friendships, I just can’t... I’m just gonna miss them all so, so much.

I enjoyed this series, and it's conclusion much more than I expected to. Condie's narrative leaves much unexplained throughout the trilogy which can be alternately frustrating and fascinating. The vagueness--and her willingness to leave some things unanswered--is what kept me reading. (Unlike the last Eragon book with a denouement longer than the first third of the book but that's for another review.)
I love the emphasis on the rediscovery of art and it's prominent place in human experience. 
The "love triangle" felt a bit forced when the characters were all separated. It never became grating through because Condie did not make that the main focus of the narrative. 
I definitely recommend this book and the trilogy. There are a few young adult distopian series that rise above the crowd. This is one of them.

3.5 stars? I don't know, I liked some parts. But mostly, it was sort of- underwhelming? The first book was great, the second was mediocre, and the the third was underwhelming. Hmmm.
Xander felt very clinical and cold to me, Cassia was kind of annoying, and Ky wasn't really awake for much of it. Eh.

I want to start by saying how big of a fan I am of dystopian worlds. Anyone that can come up with a different way of living, believable or not, and make it interesting has my respect as a writer. Even if I personally don’t find it interesting, I give the author props for sticking their head out there and letting the world read their mind-baby

I have completely the entire series and plan to rate all of them accordingly.

I am not a fan of this series, though it does have some aspects that I do like.

Why is there a random plague? I feel like the Rebellion is like everyday hackers.
“Bro, I found a way to kill everyone’s computers.”
“That’s awesome, let’s release it and make everyone super upset.”
“But I don’t have anything to fix it afterwards yet.”
“That’s fine. After we release it and everyone is upset, we will find a way to fix everything and get super rich.”

You see what I mean?
The rebellion wanted to release this plague so they could fix it and be the heroes. Why are we just hearing about this thing now? I feel like it was a little thrown together, you know what I mean?

I liked how it focused more on Xander though. I liked him more than Cassia and Ky. Those two just were so love thirsty it was annoying. There are more things than falling in love with someone you never noticed before until someone told you to notice them. Xander needed to move on too (and thank goodness he did).

How was Cassia plague-proof? Or how is she pill-proof? I just don’t feel complete. I feel as if the whole story lacked something (maybe action?) and if it had that something I would have loved this book 10000% more than I do right now. 

Again, props for giving the brain-baby a try but I feel as if she needed more work before you published her. This is my personal opinion. Obviously people loved it besides me so you can just wave off. 

It is a different twist to the young adult books, which is what I do like about it. Makes you think more and is set more in the minds of the characters instead of what is actually going on around them.

I don't really know how to start this "review"; I guess I wanted to finish the series to see what the heck was going to happen.

The first book was really good and I love how Ally Condie tried to make the series as realistic as possible. Crossed was okay but Reached, I don't know, I expected so much more from it.

I felt like some of the characters stories wasn't ended how it could've ended. Like some of the characters deserved more. It was very dragged.
