Artists come in all varieties. Some are impetuous, loud, and colorful, and some like to sit quietly, analyze a beautiful thing, and soak it right into their souls. Some like to keep all their paints and brushes perfectly organized.

It's strange to me how many people can see the wonder of a thing and simply accept it, without inquiring why it was made or how it works.

There are members of each race who have done wicked, wretched things. That doesn't mean we condemn them all. It doesn't mean we keep hating and punishing everyone of that race for wrongs committed long ago.

A love so imperfectly flawless is all the magic we need to dispel fear.

i made so many highlights of this that you wouldnt expect its a dark and smut retelling of the nutcracker

I really liked the idea of this book but it wasn’t giving adult retelling of the nutcracker. It was giving teenage girl trying to be adult retelling of the nutcracker. Louisa was a pick me girl and Clara was interesting to say the least. The spicy scenes didn’t feel right. Idk what it was. If you like strange and twisted spice I guess this is for you but not what I was expected going into the book.
