A Pirate’s Life for Tea

I didn’t like this book as much as the first. For one, the pacing felt sloppy, and the plot was kind of all over the place. I didn’t like the focus on Bobbie and Serina, I didn’t find them interesting and their story was a bit conveniently solved. They seemed like they had a lot of issues to work through, and because we’re still following Reyna and Kianthe, we missed most of their important moments. I really didn’t bond with them. The ending was really rushed and some things felt too convenient.

A lot going on in this one between the plot and excessive amount of dialogue and side characters. I got bored halfway through and started to skim. It does have great lgbtq+ rep, and there’s a lot of cute cheesy moments sprinkled throughout. I think I was just expecting these books to be something else than what they were.
