Some parts of this book are really entertaining and fun moments. The story between Bria and Han is much more engaging than I thought it would be. Overall, it's a very good end to the trilogy, but very rushed at the end. My guess is the author was told it had to end RIGHT where episode 4 starts, which I think held back this book. It would've worked better ending semi close to episode 4 but allowing a year or two to breathe between the final events and the movie. As is, it's really struggling to force the situation Han was in at the beginning of episode 4 and the ending the trilogy wants to tell. Not a huge problem, and I still think the author did a great job everywhere else!

Four (non-canon) things that stuck out at me when I read the Han Solo Trilogy:

1. Kibbik is an idiot.
2. Boba Fett was not always an esteemed Bounty Hunter. He used to be a Journeyman Protector named Jaster Mereel (definitely not canon).
3. Hutts reproduce asexually, and, once pregnant, a male Hutt will turn female for an indeterminate amount of time, carrying the young Hutt in a belly pouch (similar to a kangaroo).
4. Chewbacca has a wife named Mallotobuck (and a child) who await his return on their home planet of Kashyyyk. Chewbacca owes a life debt to Han Solo for saving him from slavery at the hands of the Empire, and must repay this life debt before he can join his wife and child back home.

So wait, virtually nothing about Han Solo stuck out from reading the Han Solo Trilogy?

To tell the truth, I am utterly disappointed with the Han Solo Trilogy. While learning where Han came from was interesting, and seeing him learn to pilot and to smuggle was fun for a minute, and finding out how he came by the Milennium Falcon was cool, I didn't like the story at all. I mean, the most interesting things I learned were NOT about Han Solo. Doesn't that seem odd?

But it's true. The whole Trilogy just stunk like Hutt body odor. There was some skirt chasing, sure, but most of the dialogue was uncharacteristic of Han Solo. I wanted him to be dashing. I wanted him to be dangerous. I wanted him to have swagger. I wanted him to be fun. I wanted all the things the movie Han Solo was, channeled into this book, and it utterly fell short of my expectations.

Ultimately, this is one series that I will not be reading again.
