This book kind of bridges the gap between the Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker and I loved it! I wasn't a huge fan of the changing POVs (I had thought it would be from maybe two or three POVs but it was kind of all over the place) and I especially hated Winshur's POV. But yes, I really enjoyed this book and I loved the reference to another SW book I read recently (Bloodline by Claudia Gray).

This book is a delight. It captures the spirit of Star Wars in an action packed adventure with excellent character beats. It also does an excellent job of capturing the state of the resistance after the previous two movies, and sets the table well for the upcoming final film in the trilogy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought it was such a nice tie in to the movies and really connects episode 8 and 9. This book mainly focuses on Poe's redemption and stresses and shows more of the ongoing battle the resistance is facing.
Seeing these characters in multiple medias really adds a lot for me. I loved the way Leia was portrayed and how wise she is said to be by many of the characters. 
Recommended for: Anyone looking for more Star Wars content and who wants more Poe and Finn content lol

I wish real-life issues haven't been all around me lately so I could finish this sooner because it was hard to put down.
Resistance is a family more than just a group of soldiers. During the era, they kept breaking down but in the end, they got up stronger. This one is about their journey to the war, collecting allies. They rely on one thing; Hope. And it's all that they need.
We also got to see other Resistance fighters who we sadly couldn't get to see in the movies clearly. Their stories and characters were interesting and hopeful. Such a waste.
Getting into the mindsets of characters always interests me. When it's combined with my favorite characters and melancholy of Star Wars, it was really touching.

Ik las dit boek omdat ik weet dat er een tijdsprong zit tussen de laatste en nieuwste film. Hopende op een verhaal wat me doet uitkijken naar The Rise of Skywalker, maar nee. Dit voegt niks toe aan mijn beleving. Wil nog steeds de film zien natuurlijk naar voor mij voegt dit boek niks toe.....

While well written and enjoyable generally this didn't give me quite what I was looking for. The moments with Poe and Finn were nice and it was interesting seeing what was going through Poe's mind but all the other characters were pretty quiet and nothing really actually happened. I know there would have been a restriction on what could be included with it being released before the last film but it felt a little too restricted to me.
