Bad things happen to good dogs. :(

This book is part tragedy, part anti-animal testing polemic. I listened to the audio version. Unlike another reviewer who had trouble with some of the dialect, I followed it ok. It was a bit like listening to Shakespeare. I have to kind of tune my ear to the different sounds of the language, and then I'm mostly all ok with it. 

Some of the book was really hard to take. It reminded me a bit of Nop's Trials by Donald McCaig. That's another heart-breakingly sad book about a dog separated from his master and having a hard time. 

I liked it ok, but it's really, really bleak.
