HIV and AIDS-related Stigma and Discrimination A Conceptual Framework and Implications for Action

This document argues that the stigma, discrimination, and denial surrounding AIDS make the epidemic as hard to treat as anything about the disease itself does. It discusses how and why HIV-positive people are stigmatized and discriminated against and suggests questions for further research on the subject and ways to reduce the stigma of AIDS.
