What if only certain people were allowed to reproduce? This short story opens strong with the local libraries pivoting to offer checkout services of babies and toddlers so the “unlicensed” can experience what it’s like to have a baby in their life for a day or two at a time. It‘a a short story so if I say any more it would be a spoiler. Worth reading.

I loved this short story with all my heart and soul and wish it was full length! I would read more from this world, from this plot in a second. Amazing work from a brilliant writer. This was just amazing. I felt so seen and understood and loved it.
