MY CHILDHOOD <3 I watched this on Cartoon Network back in, what 2002/2003(?) when the anime aired and I was hooked. Read the manga a decade later and it is still a favorite of mine.

Kagome and the half-demon Inu-Yasha continue their search for the scattered shards of the Shikon Jewel, but they have a new weapon to fight with--Inu-Yasha's demon-father's great sword, Tetsugaiga, which can only be wielded indefense of humanity.

InuYasha is one of those series that everybody loves on some level, despite how repetitive it is in nature. This book deals with a lot of people dealing with romantic feelings, as well as furthering the plot as Kagura tries to determine her loyalties to Naraku. Sango and Miroku have a bit of a heart to heart as their feelings become more obvious to the characters (even if the readers have known for a while).

This one is actually fairly plot important. While sone chapters of other manga in the series are more filler than anything, Volume 5 is highly plot important, detailing Inu Yasha's largest weakness and the return of Kikyo, who is revealed to have been more than just his enemy. Definitely a good volume, as far as things go.

As she battles the evil priestess Tsubaki, Kagome is poisoned by a corrupted shard of the Shikon Jewel that threatens to turn her against Inu-Yasha and put her under Kagura's control.

InuYasha regains the ability to use his fang as intended - and even manages to unlock it's true power. Following that, Kagome is infected by a curse that affects the shikon shards Kagome is carrying. Shockingly, Kagome manages to mirror what Kikyo had done in the past and defeats the black priestess Naraku hired to kill them in the first place.

A mysterious force is attacking Inuyasha and preventing him from obtaining the last Shikon shard. Inuyasha also faces the dreaded Naraku, who will stop at nothing to obtain the shard.

While I am not a die hard manga fan like other individuals I want to thank my handsome boyfriend for introducing me to this beautiful series and a beautiful manga that literally captured my heart. Also this is my first time reading Manga as I wanted to broaden my genres this year!! 

So now that heartfelt moment is over let us get into the nitty gritty!

1. The characters - 
* Kagome- while Kagome captured my interest in the Tokyo world, lifestyle, and dynamics and her life as a teenager that gets thrown into a bizarre circumstance she was not my favorite. The only reason why - she kinda annoys me! I know, I know, she depicts the "natural" response of what could possible happen to someone that gets thrown into that situation but she could definitely be more mature about it.
* Inuyasha- okay who else had a problem with the abusive language he used towards Kagome?
