If I'm being honest, I am really happy to have finished this book, because I thought I wasn't going to be able to. Not because the writing was terrible (it wasn't), but the plot got too messy, too choppy. I didn't feel connected to the characters, which led to me not wanting to see what happened. Delijani jumped around so much that you didn't get a chance to care for the characters. Some of the reviews I've read have said the same thing. In fact, I remember one person saying that the novel might've been better as a collection of short stories and I agree. Hopefully Delijani finds her footing and is able to organize a bit better, because I am interested in the stories she was telling, but just found it too hard to connect with any of it.
