Reading and Writing with Understanding Comprehension in Fourth and Fifth Grades

The goal of literacy instruction is to produce learners who understand deeply and communicate clearly. This work illustrates what to expect of upper elementary students as they hone skills and become competent readers and writers, ready to take on the complicated texts of middle and high school - and beyond.
