While I loved the first book, the sequal was harder to get into. The entire first half of the book barely kept my attention, the second half was amazing. After the conclusion of the Alia focused part of the story, Runa kept my attention much more with her difficulties.

This review is going to be short… and not so sweet.

I hate leaving bad reviews. I state that with every bad review I have to write.

I just really did not enjoy this story. For the first half of the book, it was identical to Sea Witch. Same story. Same issues. It honestly made me not care for this story.

The one thing that this book had going for it is that it had more of a plot than Sea Witch. It just wasn’t done well.

This book just seemed undeveloped to me.

I admit when this was first announced I was dubious but I didnt need to be. I enjoyed this as much as the first book and it worked really well as a continuation as well as a retelling of the little mermaid too. The characters were compelling and I liked the way it was split between Runa and Evie.
