More of a 4.5! I really enjoyed this one! I was sold on the cover alone. I mean, come on. That cover is everything!! Then the synopsis. And then started reading, and was definitely hooked from chapter one! We get a prologue that gives us the history and sets up the story, and then we get right into Halira's life. I found her to be a great MC. She's really relatable, and doesn't fall into that "perfect at everything she tries" trap that I feel like plagues the YA genre. I enjoyed that she wasn't the best fighter, and was clumsy, and was full of loyalty and realness. I also really liked the side characters and think they add so much to the story. I like that they all have their flaws and some unlikable characteristics. It makes me care more about them and the story. 
The writing is also great. It flows well, and keeps you engaged (and probably staying up way too late because you just can't put it down!)
This is a rich, dark, fantasy full of demons, demon hunters, and a storyline that will have you hooked. The MC is one you're gonna be routing for hard, and lots of other characters to enjoy. I'm already so excited for the next books! 
*Note- this is a darker story, so there is definitely some blood and gore! It didn't bother me, but I do like to warn people just in case!
