Holland's manuscript, part of which was used in George Mackenzie's Travels in Iceland (Edinburgh, 1811), is here published in full. The maps are mostly Holland's own sketch maps. Appendices include tables of population and commerce, a list of parishes, a page from a parish register, and a register of weather.
