Interesting stuff - the Norse peeps were pretty wack.
I also admire Snorri's academic distancing - he doesn't allow his religion (Christianity) to influence the storytelling all that much (except in that prologue.. it's riddled with Jesus). The myths are exceptionally imaginative, particularly so considering they were curated c.1000ish (although the poems and such themselves that Snorri draws upon likely existed hundreds of years prior). A particular favourite anecdote if mine is Loki bedding a horse, and consequently birthing his own eight-legged horse-baby.

So very interesting for someone looking into foreign mythologies. I found the amount of humor in some of the stories very cool, but also I was shocked at how much Lord of the Rings is inspired by this
