The following book is meant to be a treatise on decreasing the adoption of foreign lexicon in the English language. It was written by the Society of Pure English member, Logan Pearsall Smith, an American-born British essayist and critic, who, with his book 'His Words and Idioms' became an authority on correct English language usage.
