Cute! I really enjoy Peter and Shayla (though I kind of kept waiting for her to awkwardly explain that sometimes she talks to imaginary friends). I think because all the ongoing plots from the series are wrapped up, making this book stand alone more than the last few, it doesn't have quite the emotional heft of some of the books in the series, but it's overall really quite enjoyable.

Peter Greene is a lieutenant and has recently become the custodian of his teenage daughter. While they don't have the best of relationships, since he hardly got to see her, he deeply cares for her. Hence the reason he tries to find her when she is running away. As time passes by, we find out that he is honourable to a fault because of the things he had to put up with.
 
Shayla Whitman, an author, is a divorcee with two male teenagers. She seems to have a regular inner conversation with one of her fictional male characters at random moments. Also, is willing to help a stranger when it is needed especially when it involves a child.
 
Both Peter and Shayla are instantly attracted to one another and they work well together in trying to find his daughter Maddie.
 
Maddie is just a troubled teen who has gotten into the worst sort of situation because of someone she considered a friend since moving in with her father after her mother passed away.
 
The story's is written in the third person and is mostly taking the point of view of Peter and Shayla. There are also some from Maddie. Like other Suzanne Brockmann novels, she informs the audience of the past. In this case, it is that of Peter and Lisa, his ex. Appearances from other characters within the series make it even more interesting and we catch glimpses of where there are at.

Although this is the nineteenth novel in her Troubleshooters series, it is not necessary to have read the previous books. However, if you like romance suspense, then this series is highly recommended. It is not as action packed as her other ones but still worth a read. It is also very informative about the Japanese encampment.

Who else is excited about Suzanne Brockman writing another Troubleshooter book. She returns again in the Troubleshooter series, Some Kind of Hero.
Some Kind Of Hero will start off from the start. It will introduce both characters very sudden but urgent too. Pete is definitely a tough yet sweet SEAL member. He will always have everyone backs but he keeps his private life very secretly until recently. Recently, he had to take care of his child who he did not see in awhile since there was a falling out with the baby mother. Things will get complicated for him because his child gets missing and he needs to find asap, which his neighbor is willing.to help.
Shay’s is definitely a kind yet passionate women. She will always go the extra mile but she is pulling herself back since she had a tough go. She definitely had no problem in helping her neighbor because she knows how it is whenever you are worried about a child. But things will get intense with her neighbor, Pete because there is undeniable chemistry between them. 
There is a strong chemistry between them that you want them to go for it. You cannot wait for their spark cause it is too cute to read. While they have chemistry, they are also working together to find his child no matter what.
Some Kind Of Hero will bring Troubleshooter element with hilarious moment mixed with sweet romance and suspense plot. Four stars.

Some Kind of Hero would be a good book to read on the beach or in front of a cozy fire. The book is a quick read and seems very light, but Brockmann has expertly woven three different stories into one, bringing in characters from past Troubleshooter novels and historical events surrounding the internment of Japanese Americans around the time of World War II. 
In one story, Shayla Whitman, who is a romance author suffering from writers' block meets SEAL instructor Peter Greene. Shayla offers to help Peter as he looks for his missing daughter, Maddie. Shayla and Peter have an immediate chemistry that they are both fighting as they look for Peter's daughter. 
Maddie is suffering from grief over the death of her mother and finds herself living with a father that she hardly knows. As a result, she makes a bad choice of friend in Fiona, who steals money and drugs from her dealer and frames Maddie before disappearing. Maddie finds help from an unlikely source as she and Fiona's former boyfriend, Dingo, try to find Fiona before the dealer acts on his threat to kill Maddie if she doesn't come up with the money she supposedly owes. 
In emails that Shayla is sending to Maddie, we get the story of Peter and Maddie's mother, Lisa, and how they went from being high school friends to the point when they have a baby together. 
There are so many details that become a part of this story that it moves very quickly. Humor, romance, action, and an unexpected hero all add to the enjoyment of this book. A real winner.

Seriously enjoyed this SO much!! How could I not with a Navy SEAL single father hero and a romance writer heroine? This was my first Suzanne Brockmann book but it won't be my last! Full review to come!
