Ever since I met Lincoln I've been needing his story. I was so pleasantly surprised when I read that Lincoln isn't actually a womanizer as he portrays to be. But this is only the beginning of his story *cue all the sobs* You see, life has dealt him a very ugly card and none of his friends know what he's going through. He fools them all by acting happy and flirting with women. But the reality is so painfully heartbreaking. Despite what he's dealing with, Lincoln is a character who's very charming, a gentleman, kind and so unbelievably caring. His heart is so big with all the love he has to give. His story was squeezing my heart and I felt so much anguish. I kept hoping for his happily ever after.

It was odd that it was the person who’d known him for the least amount of time who could expose him...

Daisy is just like Lincoln. When she's at social gatherings, she acts happy and fakes a smile, yet inside she's hurting. Lincoln recognized that as soon as he saw her. Daisy was warned by her twin Emma to not go near Lincoln, but by the end of their first encounter, they are both at a bar having a good time. It's here that Daisy starts to realize that Lincoln's friend have him pegged wrong. Then the following day it's proven when Lincoln takes Daisy to see his heart-shattering truth.

It was some strange in-between place where his old life and new life converged in the most painful of ways. It was what might have been and what could never be, all rolled into one, and yet he couldn't stay away. Wouldn't stay away.

By here, I had tears streaming down my face. My heart was in the process of being ripped apart piece by piece. Lauren Layne gave Lincoln a story so sad and painful like no other, and I was suffering right along with him. Lincoln and Daisy are two jaded souls who meet each other time and time again. They both know what it's like to love so profusely and then being left shattered with no idea on how to put themselves back together. Their emotional understanding is what brings them closer together. This is a very character driven story with all the added depth it goes into. I was expecting a fun story, which it was, but it also was so deeply moving and tugged at my heart strings.

"Someday we'll be old and gray, sitting on the porch in boring, old-person silence, and I'll be just fine with that because I'll have everything I ever wanted. I'll have you."

Once again, all of the characters from the Stiletto series and Oxford made very entertaining appearances that add lightness to the story. The friendships are still amazing and fun. Their interactions continue to be hilarious. I love that they aren't just coworkers. I love that everyone is actually friends and are very involved in each other's lives.

This is Lauren Layne's best story to date. I don't know how she will top this one. Someone Like You is in my top 5 books of 2016! It was wonderful and so heart-wrenching. It tore my insides apart and had me crying, but it was so worth it! Lincoln's story is one everyone should read. You'll fall hard for this marvelous man.

4.5 stars. that was sooooo good! i had so much fun reading, even though daisy and lincoln’s journey was kinda sad while they dealt with their respective issues. i loved seeing the gang together at the end and the epilogue was so sweet!

Where to begin with these two!! When people told me they were the most emotional and painful Lauren Layne book (of these series) they weren't really kidding, Lincoln and Daisy both broke my heart and put it back together, in a beautiful, intense, painful and amazing way!
Lincoln my man, my beautiful gentle kind man who had a lot to deal with, really a lot, when he finally figured it out and came to Daisy, I cried my eyes out, not only for them finally having their happy ending but also for Lincoln that finally accepted he deserved to be loved and have a family too! And Daisy, what a strong woman who truly deserves the whole world, she was so right to move forward and try to live her best life in the best way possible and also finding her passion!!
Like always I don't have enough words to express how much this book was actually so beautiful and so much more of what I was waiting for and it didn't disappoint!! Not only for them, their romance, their development as characters individually and as a couple, but also for, again, all the amazing friendship they all have with each other and god everytime the other characters were in the room, I couldn't help but cry of happiness and how much these characters, this family really means to me, they have become one of my comfort series and I'm not sorry about it!! I could rr them all over again and again and again and I know I couldn't even be tired of them, not for a second!
Seeing Daisy and Lincoln's finally happy ever after was actually so magical and so damn wonderful I don't know what to do with myself!!!
Now god Taylor and Nick's banter at the end of the book, uhh their book is going to be fire I can feel it and I can't wait!

this book made me want to die for these people. my heart broke for lincoln and daisy. i just want to hug them both so tightly and tell them i love them. i cried. three times.

anyway can we take a moment and appreciate the freaking perfection that is the epilogue? best one. and ofc i have to mention my favorite found family

Someone Like You was one of my most anticipated reads of 2016. Since Lincoln first appeared in the Oxford series — or was it Stiletto? Honestly I've been half in love with him so long I can't even remember when we were first introduced — I've wanted his story. I always suspected there was way more to him than this carefully crafted, much talked about playboy image he puts out there. I wasn't wrong. I know there's no way my little review can do any amount of justice to this book, but I'm gonna try anyhow. 

I'm not going to dig too deep into the storyline in my review, so if you've come looking for spoilers, you can move on along. ;) Some books are just better when you experience them for yourself, going in blind. This is absolutely one of those. What I will do, however, is tell you that I loved both of the characters. I mean, I was already half in love with him before I even opened this book. It didn't take long at all before I was head over heels for this man. Daisy was incredible in her own right. She was far from the delicate flower she was made out to be initially. She was strong, if a little broken, and I fell head over heels for her, too. Daisy and Lincoln together were really something special. I can't think of two people more perfectly suited to each other. I was shipping them long before they were more than just friends. 

Someone Like You was a really emotional read for me. I think it's partially because I was already so connected to Lincoln before going into it. It was a special book for a whole lot of reasons I can't get into because I don't want to spoil anything for you. I shed more than a couple tears over this one, but they weren't all sad tears. There were plenty of smiles along the way. There's something beautiful about two broken people finding a way to put themselves back together with a little help from someone special. 

I'm not even gonna lie. I had ridiculously high expectations for this book. And Lauren exceeded them by, like, double. Someone Like You was the total romance package. Not only did I blow through it without sitting it down, I laughed and cried, swooned over the romance and felt every feel along the way. Absolutely brilliant. There were also quite a few cameos from characters from the Stiletto and Oxford series, which is just one more reason why fans of the series will LOVE this one. If you're not yet a fan, you should bump the Oxford (and Stiletto!) series to the top of your list. You'll thank me later.
