The ape pushed a candlestick into Rincewind's hand, picked up a scalpel and a pair of tweezers, and bent low over the trembling book. Rincewind went pale.

"Um," he said, "er, do you mind if I go away? I faint at the sight of glue."

The Librarian shook his head and jerked a preoccupied thumb toward a tray of tools.

"Oook," he commanded. Rincewind nodded miserably and obediently handed him a pair of long-nosed scissors. The wizard winced as a couple of damaged pages were snipped free and dropped to the floor.

Loses a star because war is hard for me to read. It's just so boring to me. Meaningless death. Just like real war. Loved Rincewind's arc in this one, love the Librarian as always, and it was excellent to have so much time with the horsemen.

Cute. Started off better than the ones in the series I've read previously. I enjoyed the part about Conina and the harem. The world is fun, if at times a bit wobbly.

Rincewind starts to become an actual character rather than a reaction shot.

There was an eighth son of an eighth son. He was, quite naturally, a wizard. And there it should have ended. However (for reasons we'd better not go into), he had seven sons. And then he had an eighth son... a wizard squared... a source of magic... a Sourcerer. Sourcery sees the return of Rincewind and the Luggage as the Discworld faces its greatest - and funniest - challenge yet.

As always, a you to read, but I sometimes felt a little overwhelmed by the lengthy passages of metaphor.

Bisher der schwächste Scheibenwelt-Roman für mich.

I liked this one a lot. The characters were silly but didn't overshadow the main story. Pratchett was getting into his swing I think by this time, especially with developing Rincewind and his voice. I can't wait to move onto the next!

I enjoy the fantastical narration that Terry Pratchett typically weaves. But with Sourcery, it was a tad bit incoherent. Some characters were not enjoyable. And they all combined failed to work well together.

All this books and stuff, that isn't what it should all be about. What we need is real wizardry. There was an eighth son of an eighth son. He was, quite naturally, a wizard. And there it should have ended. However (for reasons we'd better not go into), he had seven sons. And then he had an eighth son... a wizard squared...a source of magic...a Sourcerer. Unseen University has finally got what it wished for: the most powerful wizard on the disc. Which, unfortunately, could mean that the death of all wizardry is at hand. And that the world is going to end, depending on whom you listen to. Unless of course one inept wizard can take the University's most precious artefact, the very embodiment of magic itself, and deliver it halfway across the disc to safety...
