Mediocre and full of clichés with a few better passages.

I've got just two major issues with this book.

1) Marsha got on my nerves. I wish she'd done more. I mean, people were constantly talking about her life as if she weren't standing right there, and she did nothing except silently disagree.

2) The excessive, unnecessary use of 'ah'. Ah this, and ah that. 


"Maybe tomorrow? Anyway, I, ah, noticed we have a couple of classes together and just wanted to say hi." pg 16

"[...] Tell her I, ah, ran into some potential customers and I'm hoping to close a deal." pg 58

"We do have a few, ah, highly placed people at NASA and elsewhere, who have helped..." pg 121

"Part of the reason is that an aversion to violence- and specifically to killing -was genetically programmed into us by our alien, ah, abductors, all those centuries ago." pg 142

As you can see, this was my biggest pet peeve. These were just a few examples I took from the beginning and the middle, but I kid you not, there are way more and what's worse, is that everyone says it. Marsha, Rigel, Marsha's uncle and aunt, Rigel's family. It was very frustrating.
