From Devon with Death follows Juno Browne, a middle-aged Domestic Goddess, who runs errands for people while managing an antique shop that she didn't really want. She also has a knack for finding dead bodies and becoming embroiled in murder investigrations. 

When I started reading this book, there were a lot of things that made me hesitant. This was part of a series and I hadn't read any of the previous books. The language and the writing style was a bit awkward to me, and the pacing felt off. But as I read on I realized that reading the other books wasn't really necessary and the pacing definitely picked up. I got used to the writing style and by the end of the book, I was quite enjoying it. 

I also absolutely loved Juno's character. At first, I was a bit iffy about her, but no wonder (almost) everyone in the village likes her. She has such a laidback personality. I also enjoyed the mystery. I wasn't mind blown over it. Yes, I kind of expected it but I was still surprised at how it all played out. This could have easily been a 5 star read if it wasn't for the inconsistency at the end. I was just a teeny-weeny bit bothered by how it was out of this person's character to handle it that way.
