More than a story about Goth fashion, teen angst or even restless ghosts, Vintage delivers pulse-quickening plot, unique and fully-developed characters.

"Vintage: A Ghost Story" is about your typical, gay teenage boy who struggles in dealing with a society who treats him differently because of that. Except our main character is not the typical teenager in the way that he suddenly gains a sixth sense in being able to communicate with ghosts. Which adds a whole paranormal experience to the book and makes the plot a lot more enjoyable and suspenseful.

From the summary I assumed this book would be about a gay boy who meets a ghost who understands his dilemma and so they become friends (and much more). Luckily, I was completely wrong and there's so much more to this book other than the main character and his problem of trying to fit into society.

An interesting thing is that we don't really learn the main character's name at first — since this is all in first person narration. I don't know if it was the author's intention of so you feel like you're the main character or something like that, but honestly I didn't even notice because the story and plot draws your attention more.

What I also liked is how not only the main character is likable, but so are the rest of the characters that we meet throughout the book. Each character has their own little kick and we see how the main character connects with all of them. So not only is the book about the main character and his taste for men instead of women, but we also see his relationships with friends and family.

All in all, this is a great read about a boy who is just trying to find love and happiness. Then when he thinks all hope is lost, he stumbles upon a ghost who may or may not be the best thing that has ever happened to him.
