Small town contemporary romances always get me, and Annie Rains knows how to do it right! This book is a sweet novel full of romance and adorableness. It has two people pretending to be together, and suddenly a romance blooms! Emma and Jack two lovely characters with great chemistry, which makes this story even better.

There is also a fair amount of drama, such as cancer running in a family and parental and family issues. These are some of the subplots and don't really make the story too emotional.

Overall, Sunshine on Silver Lake is a great read for romance novels seeking something sweet and delightful. It's just so cozy and lovely! I highly recommend it.

Ugh, I don’t know how Forever does it but they know how to create such wonderful book covers, especially with adorable dogs! I love reading any book if their book cover has any dog in it. It draws me in so immediately. Reader will get Emma's story. And it's a bit of a journey for her.Emma is finally turning the big number. But it’s hitting her differently since she lost her mother at a young age. It’s kinda expected whenever you lose someone but I think it’s different for Emma because she kinda feels a little lost. Understandable but she will find herself especially when she receives a box from her mother that her mother saves for her. It's a bit emotional for her but it does push her to do something. And she gets help from her close buddy, Jack.Jack has a very free life but lately things are changing for him. He wants more from his family and it doesn’t help that Emma is always there for him. But he will need to work for it since he messed up big time from the last time. Time does heal but actions speak louder. And he will get the opportunity to do so when she asks for his help.
