Man. This wasn't Super. 

Halfway through the book I was like, so this is the one everyone's praising so much? Cuz it wasn't doing it for me. Sure the whole story is smart and it's pretty much telling itself, not that I don't give credit to Millar for the idea/script or anything.. but I wasn't that much impressed as to say I REALLY like this story.

And then, towards the end he got me. It was so fucking good, and then the end was just perfect.

Other than that, it's an interesting what if story, fun with good pace, not boring, great artwork and solid read overall.

I'd recommend it even to those who don't like Supes!

Exceptional, extraordinary and mind numbingly good! Mark Millar creates a world whose social and geo political narrative echoes the inevitable prospective worst of times and best of times. To think and re imagine an ever-present icon in such drastic yet narratively simplistic way, ends proving the potential of a great mind who has absorbed the world in the most immersive way possible. And to top it all, one of the most gorgeous looking graphic novels since The Dark Knight Returns.

That was actually really really good. I'm always hesitant when it comes to superman comics since I don't really enjoy him that much, reading about an invincible character is so boring because you know nothing is going to happen to him. But this concept is really nice, how can one think like, oh what would happen if superman was a communist. It's such a good idea. Though there were some parts I wasn't too keen on but that's just me nitpicking. All in all it is a very cool concept and I really enjoy these type of comics

This was the first time I've ever read a Superman comic -and I must say it did not let me down. The Eastern Russian scholar in me absolutely loved this book. I loved the reimagining of American history. And I LOVED Batman in his fuzzy hat.
