Honestly, if you've come this far in the series by now, and you've seen my other reviews, you know what I'll say. Loved it. Fantastic. Dennard makes a show stopper every time.

Characters? Nuanced and lovable.
World? Extremely detailed.
Lore? Vast.
Villains? Very complex.
Romance? Shippable.
Plot? Super twisty.

Only reason for a half star off was that I was confused a lot, but I hear she did that on purpose. Plus, if I'm honest, I like confusion. It makes me think hard and then feel really accomplished when I figure stuff out. 

Well, by that logic, there's no reason to take a half off, so maybe my rating IS 5 stars?

Anyway,

Read this series. Don't argue, just do it. Man I wish the fifth book was out now. Oh well, that's what rereads are for.

So yeah, fantastic. Read it.

I love the Witchlands Series. I’ve loved it from Truthwitch. This has been one of my most anticipated read since Bloodwitch ended….buuuuuttt….Wrichsadow has been my least favorite of the series….and it bums me out. It took me almost 2 months to read it. I probably would’ve given up on it if it were any other series. I will say there were things I still loved about this book though! Vivia & Vaness…chef’s kiss slow burn! I wish they had their own book though. I felt like their story could have been so much more without the amount of characters and lengthy chapters in this book. Isuelt’s journey of discovering who she really is and her growth. Isuelt is my favorite character and going on this journey with her was insightful. What I didn’t love….the lengthy different POV chapters. I ended up forgetting about some of our other characters. I think I was so confused for more than half the book with so many characters and characters within characters. Trying to keep it all straight was overwhelming. The pacing just didn’t do it for me…and I think that just had to do with the lengthy multiple POV chapters and the alternating time lines. With all that said…I am still eagerly anticipating the next book. More Aeduan & more Merik!!

Th plot reveals in this book y'all! I'm sorry, the Rook King is WHO?!?! The Paladin reveals were just perfection in this one. 

I love the way Sooz builds a story, how she just keeps layering things on. How things we thought weren't important in book 1 are SUPER important by book 5. That kind of storytelling just amazes me every time.

The only thing I really didn't looooove this time around (and in the past few books) is the reveal snatch. Like, you're juuuuuuuuust about to have a big reveal but then something happens and you don't find out the thing. It does happen quite a lot in this book (and Bloodwitch) and it's starting to hurt me.

Also, where the ever-loving heck was Merik this whole book? I mean, I know where he was and that ending was like a WOW but still. I missed him. 

Ughhhh I just love these books so much. The characters have my whole dang heart and I love the reveals and the plot and I just NEED THE NEXT BOOK RIGHT NOWWWW.

SUSAN FUCKING DENNARD YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!! 

Now i will say since the every installment takes a solid two years to release I was all times of confused so I went to website and read the recap -it helped somewhat but i know i'll need to do a series reread soon- i was confused but with Dennard's help throughout the book i became less confused and VEERY emotional THIS WAS AMAZING

I didn't enjoy this one as much as Bloodwitch, I do feel in places it was a bit drawn out too much. But it was still a good book and I did like the ending, it set up the last book nicely imo. Certain things are still a bit confusing but I like the characters a lot. And I'm glad the team are united once more. 

4 stars.
