I'll be completely honest, I really did not enjoy this book. I think there were many moments of narration and plot elements that were either not explained properly or handled poorly. There were many aspects about this book that subtly and outwardly degraded women, without making the effort to historically portray these female characters in a light that recognized the patriarchal institutions set upon putting them down.
