also sloane, a couple pages later: I think i'm drugged let me have sex with my bf that I don't remember but a few people told me about him so I must be madly in love

like I know some feelings are strong and I believe that you'll still be able to feel some things even though the memories are gone but jesus if she knows she can't trust anyone and things are bad atm, why would she automatically trust him and fall back on him like that? this book feels as thrown together as the first one. I was using this book to see if I should continue the series and I barely got into it before I decided.

I hope "Girls with Sharp Sticks" is better since that's been on my tbr for longer.

I didn't finish reading this. My expectations for this book were so high because I enjoyed reading "The Program", this book disappointed me and I didn't even make it to half of the book. Idk anymore. Sorry, Suzanne.

This book was so absolutely amazing. So many things happen in here. I was rooting for Sloane and James the entire book. I love them together. Such an amazing ending to this story!

I love love this series and this book, but it seemed to go too fast for me sometimes. A lot happened in this book, sometimes all at once, and it seemed a bit rushed. But I’m so glad it ended like it did, and I can’t wait to read the rest!

I'm really bummed that I didn't enjoy this more. I loved the first installment in the Program series but book 2 feels very forced. The voice feels different from the first book and it felt like a lot of Sloane/James make out scenes, clunky love triangles (squares? I guess if you count Dallas), and leaps in the story line. If you loved the Program, brace yourself because you may be disappointed with how the series continues.

An amazing follow up to The Program. Just wow. A fantastic end to a duology. I know there are other books in the series but from my understanding they are based in the past and/or with new characters. This is amazing, I love it and I will totally read it again.

I swear, I was waiting on the second book in this series from the very second I put down the first one. If you've read my review for The Program, you'll know I did a reread of it before tackling my ARC of The Treatment. You'll also know it affected me far more the second time around than it did the first. The Treatment was a fantastic conclusion to this duology. It completed the story well, but left it just open enough that there could easily be a third book. (And I would fully support it, even though I found myself very content at the end of this book.)

It's been awhile since I finished this book. I've just put my review off for far too long. It's difficult to review the final book in a series and give enough information to make the review valuable without giving away too much plot. So I'm going to tread carefully here and just say The Treatment had far more action than The Program did. It didn't have *quite* as many feels for me as the first, but I was so happy to see James and Sloane back together that it didn't even matter. They were such a fantastic couple, and while they didn't remember all the details of the love they had, it didn't make what they remembered any less powerful to me. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them slowly put the pieces back together, all while fighting against the program. The Treatment also introduced two new main characters into the series – Cas and Dallas. It took me awhile to like and trust them, but they definitely added more depth complexity to the story. 

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt that it was a satisfying end to this duology. I'd love to have more of Sloane and James' story (as well as Cas and Dallas) but that's not because the story felt incomplete. It's because I'm greedy and not really ready to give these characters up. I do plan to do an audiobook reread of this one because I loved The Program so much in that format. The narrator, Joy Omanski, was fantastic and I want to see what she brings to The Treatment.

I really wanted to love or at least really like this book because I loved The Program. Sadly this did not happen.
I do have to admit that when I started reading this I only remembered the rough outline of the first book so I was a little confused at times (who is Lacey? who was this Miller guy?) until my memory kicked in again.

The Treatment was pretty disappointing for me. For most of the book I was waiting for something to actually happen, for some kind of plot to develop... but nothing and when there was a hint of plot it was crushed at the seed.

Another thing that really bothered me in this sequel were the characters.
Let's start with our dear protagonist/heroine Sloane. I really liked her in the first installment. She seemed smart and independent. And then The Treatment happens! What? Where did the character from the first book go? All that matters to her anymore is James. James this, James that, James I love you, James it's us against the world - i can't keep my hands of you... and so on. Like seriously?! You're on the run with the rebels and all you can think about is making out and sleeping with your boyfriend?! It's not like there is an evil organization hunting you right? You couldn't use this time to do something useful like maybe learn some self defense right?!
Also everyone keeps acting as if Sloane is the messiah or something, like she is special. So I keep waiting for the big revelation on how/why she is special... but nothing. All that makes her oh so special is the fact the fucking Realm loves her. Turns out she's special to HIM not to the cause!

This brings me to my next character Michael fucking Realm. What was up with him? He was so creepy in this book! The whole story with him being Dallas' ex. What the fuck was the point of that? And let's face it his obsession with Sloane, to me at least, wasn't undying love it was just that, an obsession! How the fuck come he and James are BFFs all of a sudden at the end of the book? How did this happen? Why did this happen?

And now we have reached full circle (or annoying/unbelievable love triangle) - James
James oh James. After being all over Sloane for the better part of the book and always telling her how much you love her and how you're never going to leave her and (insert cheesy, cliché, oh-so-romantic line here) you just storm out and leave because she can't admit to not not missing Realm and him kissing her hand?! 
I mean i'd be a little upset too but up and leave like this is so unbelievable immature and childish. Not thinking about or caring that The Program is looking for you and could capture you, with the fucking treatment. No all that matters is that you can have your fucking hissy fit. 

These are just some of the things which bugged me about these characters.
I'm not even going to start with the problems I had with the "plot' and some other smaller characters cause that would just be too long and i should stop my ranting now. (hide spoiler)]

Despite the many problems I had with this book and it's characters I was still strangely captivated by it. I read it in one go so it's not that it was boring. I was annoyed a lot but never bored. Does that make sense? I feel like i kept reading in the hopes of it getting better because every now and then it seemed like it was. Also I really like Ms. Youngs' writing style it has a nice flow which for me personally is really important.
At the end of the day it was an okay book. Sadly not very memorable but not horrible either.

ugh and i LOVED the first book
the romance was basic and just not captivating whatsoever .
i just felt so detached from the story and characters in general and uninvested in the book itself, which is devastating because like i said i loved the first book in the series and the authors stand-alone , “All in Pieces”.
did my reading taste change or ...
am i crazy or did this book just feel rushed? like the author wrote it purely to make money and not because she actually wanted to write
