We finally have the second part in the Deception Duet and let me tell you it was well worth the wait!!!

First if you haven't read the first book, Chasing the Dragon, I highly recommend you read it first to get the full story and effect. 

Slaying the Dragon starts off with Mackenzie still heartbroken about what Tyler had confessed to her in the end Chasing the Dragon. Now not knowing what is real or just a lie, she is also being made to believe that her whole relationship with Tyler never happened. But, she knows it was real and so was he, and she has proof. 

Tyler has been sent overseas by his brother for what was suppose to be only a month, instead that turns into four months. He suspects his brother sent him there and has kept him there for certain reasons. Those reasons being Makenzie. Because he feels guilty and nothing but pain for what he done to Mackenzie, he has followed his brother's orders. That is until he receives an email from Mackenzie. In that email, she explains her feelings and how she still loves him and always will. Having just a bit of hope, Tyler rushes to be home and hopes he can save the relationship he thought he lost forever. 

 As he fights to be with Mackenzie again, the big announcement she has for him, and trying to figure out what is really going on behind the situation with her dad, their world is turned into chaos! New clues and evidence start showing up and some lives are lost in their journey to end this all. Will they finally figure out if her dad and Charlie were set up or was it them all along?

T.K. has a way with her writing that just sucks you in from the very first line. As you read her stories, you can see all the hard work she puts into making sure everything makes sense and the writing is just astonishing. Slaying The Dragon was no different. I never found myself getting lost or questioning anything I read. This duet just kept me on the edge of my seat and I truly enjoyed every single bit of it. Honestly I want more and don't think I will ever have enough of the Burnhams!!
