this book is just the proof that i can't stand adam at all. i hated the way he talks about juliette, he treats her like she is a child, a weak little girl that can't do anything, that need protection and only his help or just him and since the first page he was so mean to james for no reason, but his relationship with james is also the only thing that made me enjoy this book a bit more.

 “ we're going to be okay ”

the siblings tragic and the brotherhood/sisterhood is always something that make my heart beat a little faster. They relationship is so heartbreaking because you finally see the way james saved adam's life, he saved him from himself. Adam rased him, took care of him, he fed him and clothed him.

 “ sometimes i worry he's growing up way too fast in this shitty world and though i know i can't protect him from everything, i still try ”

i literally couldn’t care less about adam the moment he first appeared in the book … the way he thinks about juliette is honestly so stupid like what are u even talking about mate

One star for Kenji and Juliette’s relationship, and one star for James 🫶🏾. I don’t give a damn about Adam and his feelings. I dislike him 😭. Is there a hate club for Adam? I’d like to join. This book was so frustrating to read because of him.

Everything was already in Unravel Me, but honestly this should be Kenji’s novella because he carried Juliette’s back and done more for her than Adam did lol (I do love James, though, he did nothing wrong <3)

i definitely didn’t like adam’s pov as much but i do think it game me a lot more insight to his character and what he is thinking but also fuck adam, i don’t like him any more

the first part of the novella was unnecessary, as it was a repetition of what happened in the final scenes of unravel me. overall, it was a solid 3 stars. was it needed? no. but, at least - we get an idea of how adam thinks and how she views juliette all this while. i respect him for his endless love for his brother, but, the way she speaks about juliette irks me sometimes. the fact that he called her a "weak link" lol bro, she could kill you if she wanted to. he often sees her as a chore, too. i love kenji for snapping him out of his head. to be fair, i love kenji in general. he made the novella much more bearable

So this book only did one thing for me:
confirm my complete and utter love for Warner.
This book really shows how Adam views Juliette and I didn't like it. I feel like he's more in love with his own idea of Juliette and their past, than her herself. This, is about the only point I took away from this novella. I believe Tahereh wrote this for all those people still in love with Adam to kind of realize that they're not meant for eachother.
I mean, there's really no other reason to read this novella. Honestly, I found it a little pointless. It wasn't that it was bad or not well written. The writing was great and everything but I just didn't find it interesting. I think because I'd fallen out of touch with Adam in the 2nd book and didn't really care about a 60 page novella written from his perspective. It was nice to see what happened to them after the war but it just didn't live up to Destroy me. I would've MUCH rather read another novella from Warner's perspective, or Kenji's! Kenji is one of my favorite characters of all time now; that would've been so great to read from his point of view!
So overall this just didn't do it for me. I don't regret reading it but I definitely think it isn't absolutely pertinent to the story.

           no y’all i couldn’t do it … all this novella did for me was make me lose all the love i had for adam. he is such a C*NT and i totally get why everyone picks warner over him! i really enjoyed reading this because i just love tahereh mafi’s writing & the amazing storyline but -1 star simply because this was in adam’s lame af point of view 😐 i am now an adam hater & here is why: 

on page 131:
“warner," she says. "was he really that ruthless?"
god, she's so obsessed with him. she has some weird fascination with his twisted life that i don't understand, and it makes me crazy. i can already feel myself getting angry, annoyed - jealous, even - which is ridiculous. warner isn't even human; i shouldn't be comparing myself to him.
besides, she's not his type at all. he'd probably eat her alive.

i need u to shut the hell up kent. u are seriously acting as if you didn’t jump at the opportunity to see juliette/talk to her when warner was looking for her … u told her u loved her after YEARS of not even speaking to her. if i recall, u didn’t even talk when u guys went to the same school. that didn’t stop u though, did it? if anyone’s obsessed, it’s u. 

on page 170:
“so what are we going to do about juliette?” kenji asks. "i'm already worried we waited this long to go after her." i feel myself pale. i don't know how to tell him i had no immediate plans to go back out there. certainly not to fight - not after what happened to james. “i don't know," i say. "i'm not sure what we can do."

are u serious rn? u are ok not going out to look for and fight for the girl u claim is ur soulmate? yeah what happened with james was so scary and sad BUT SERIOUSLY? u keep bitching about how u can fix it and u can work hard & train so u can be with her yadayadayada but when she’s in danger .. u suddenly don’t want to go look for her? screw u adam. 

last but not least, page 173:
“this isn't easy to admit, but part of me doesn't want to put james at risk again on the run again - for a girl who broke up with me. a girl who walked away from us.”

HELLO? JULIETTE DIDNT “walk away” because she wanted to? she did it to keep UR ASS safe. i’m literally in disbelief right now because adam is acting like the biggest victim ever. juliette is being selfless and trying to avoid literally KILLING adam and he wants to say she’s just walking away? fuck u adam. that is all.

dang. ok this wasn’t a bad novela, but it was literally the same as the ending of unravel me but adam’s pov so it got really repetitive. i feel like it’s still necessary to read this novela tho because ngl, it’s informative at the end.

Adam is just really not an interesting character to me and he is so wrong for Juliette. He doesn't understand her or what she is going through which is so blatantly obvious throughout this whole novella. While I can't blame him for choosing James over Juliette (I mean James is his brother and almost child since he has raised James and cared for him) I can blame him for constantly seeing Juliette as someone who is weak and needs to be protected rather than helping her become stronger.

This only gets 4 stars instead of 5 because I just don't really like Adam, but the writing is great!

This was super interesting for a novella, lots of action scenes and interesting POV’s! I think I like Adam a little less now though.. not entirely sure why though? Juliettes diary was so much fun (depressing but cool touch)
