jesus fuck that was terrible. finished it out of spite. truly never ending. i kept seeing this book and going “ooo i should read this”, then would proceed to not read it. for months i did that, and i should have just kept up that same song and dance because this was bad. sounded so good on paper… second chance? childhood friends? small beach town? marriage of convenience? forced proximity? but dear god she is just a bitch and he wears so many tank tops. also i can only read the same conversation about liking each other/not liking each other maybe 2-3x tops. after that, you guys have to stfu.

Overall a solid read however the miscommunication trope was stronggggg

I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this book. I wanted to read it when it was still indie and am so excited to see it picked up and get out there for more people to find. I will say my reading experience wasn’t my favorite but I know there are some out there who would love this book. I just couldn’t connect with it the way I wanted to do it did take away from my reading experience. The concept was interesting but because of the lack of connection with the characters brought it down a bit. Hopefully I try to read more of Tarah DeWitt’s books soon!

I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this book. I wanted to read it when it was still indie and am so excited to see it picked up and get out there for more people to find. I will say my reading experience wasn’t my favorite but I know there are some out there who would love this book. I just couldn’t connect with it the way I wanted to do it did take away from my reading experience. The concept was interesting but because of the lack of connection with the characters brought it down a bit. Hopefully I try to read more of Tarah DeWitt’s books soon!

I just LOVE the marriage of convenience trope. 

This book was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever read, I loved all of the characters and the setting and was very engaged throughout the entire book. My only issue with it is that I thought it dragged on a bit. The epilogue was so perfect and adorable, it made me sob.

Simply loved this one. The second chance, forced proximity, marriage of convenience was wonderful. I also loved the setting. I noticed the few Santa Cruz references and felt a little bit at home (highway 17 is truly awful).

Only issue I had was how this was but wasn’t a slow burn. I felt like with the amount of building tension there were too many almosts and too much time before they finally caved. It was just dragging on the tiniest bit.

BUT I feel blessed to have gotten a true epilogue, the last 20% of this was literally perfect and pulled on all the heartstrings.

This was a seamless enemies to lovers, forces proximity, marriage of convenience rom com and I enjoyed the heck out of it. 

Our main characters low key gave me Nesta and Cassian vibes too, which was just perfect here. 

& I love Tarah’s writing so much! She takes care of her characters and crafts stories that deliver exactly what you need but with her own personal twist.
