Kind of meh series. Cool premise and interesting basis. The first book was the best by far, the world building is my favorite part of fantasy fiction, but the series lost me in character building. The characters were pretty one dimensional with a pivoting trait that ALL their decisions get based on. It's ok, but I found myself just wanting to rush through to see what happens and didn't actually find myself really invested in the characters or empathetic with their pain/struggle.
