Jelikož se v obou dílech vyskytuje Eadlyn, myslela jsem, že Korunu nebudu mít stejně ráda jako Dceru. Že Eadlyn se bude pořád chovat jako usmrkánek. A ona se tak doopravdy prvních desítek stran chovala. Ale pak, světě div se, se začala chovat čím dál normálněji. A mě to čím dál víc začalo bavit. A jelikož tady jsem vážně nevěděla, jak to skončí (narozdíl od Selekce, kde to víte již od začátku), byla jsem neustále natěšená na konec. Chvíli jsem chtěla, aby Eadlyn byla s tím, chvíli s tamtím, chvíli s tímhle. A když už bylo konečně jasné, co její srdce chce, já jsem si uvědomila, že jsem úplně hloupá, protože to bylo jasný už od začátku. Zakončení celé série bylo nakonec tak povedené, že jsem tomu sama nevěřila. Moc se mi to líbilo, a Eadlyn jsem si nakonec přeci jen oblíbila :D

Dávám 5*/5*, i když by mi nevadilo trochu víc toho místa pro finální dvojici. Loučení s tímhle světem bude zvláštní. Přijde mi, že jsem v něm strávila několik měsíců, i když to bylo doopravdy asi 10 dní. Jsem vážně ráda, že jsem si Selekci nakonec přečetla :D

I'm not quite sure how I feel, she didn't end up with who I liked. There's a strange plot twist but over all I liked the background about Maxons dad and thought it was over all cute.

Overall, this book concludes The Selection series in a way that’s good enough. However, I do wish that Eadlyn had more of a romantic journey with her suitors leading up to the one she ends up with. I’m satisfied with who she ended up with and I loved the way it played out. I just wish I got to read more romance in Eadlyn’s journey that could’ve left her walls completely broken down.

This book was ok. It was a satisfying ending to the story however, I felt that a lot of things were glossed over and especially towards the end it felt like things were happening just to wrap everything up. I would have like more information on the Hale/Ean thing and there were a lot of characters and moments that I felt deserved more attention but in the end it wrapped up all the loose ends and worked. So ok not great like the other books in the series.

I feel like The Crown was a bit of... a throwaway book. It's like Kiera Cass gave up on it before she even started.

It's the happily ever after. The entire book, it feels like Kiera Cass is trying to justify that Eadlyn isn't a spoiled brat and she loves her country and her family and she finds her true love and even befriends Josie. Everything is wrapped up. The conflicts that occurred didn't feel real enough because they were resolved so quickly. The Maxon and America from the first three books had some attitude, but they're reduced to weak characters here.

In fact, all the characters fell pretty flat for me. The only one I remotely liked was probably Kile, and he gets banished, so there's that. Eadlyn supposedly has a huge shift in attitude and starts to really do things for her people, but it's not really there. She's mostly just gotten other people to do things for her people (ex: Kile).

I mean, I can definitely see that she's softened. She's a lot nicer to the Elite, but that means her defining mean-girl characteristics from The Heir are gone. Eadlyn was just kind of an irritating bore. I couldn't connect to her at all, and I didn't really understand her or her motives.

Also, am I even a teensy bit surprised about the ending? Nope.

I FINALLY made it to the last book in this series. It has been a long time coming... Me staring at this full series and slowly tackling it one by one. It was my goal to finish it, and I did!

This book was a simple read for me. Kiera's writing is smooth and flows well, and the story is a cutesy YA one that doesn't really destroy your heart or soul too much. It's a nice contemporary read that made me smile. The ending didn't make me smile (come ON Eadlyn), but hey... whatever.

It seemed like this was the initial thought but wasn't executed as well as I thought it was going to be. Kiera did lead us on some different paths, but I felt the ending just wasn't strong enough and didn't hit well. It felt like it was out of left field or that the book suddenly hit it's page cap so it had to get to the finale. I wish we had a little bit more time developing to get to that ending instead of just BAM, here ya go.

Either way, still a great, quick read that allowed me to disassociate away from the world. I'll definitely grab more of Kiera's books for her lovely writing style.

Three out of five stars.

A unica coisa que mudaria era a cena do jack, ela tem autosuficiençia para se defender sozinha, e sinceramente criou uma imagem de que a mulher é fraca e precisa de ajuda de um macho para se defender, ainda mais uma princesa (mas no resto do livro compensa)

Very predictable plot twists and ending, but the part with Kile and Eady before the final report? Heartbreaking and beautiful. I did cry quite a bit for the last couple of chapters.

There's only one thing I have to say... This was not a book I expected to make me cry.
I sat there, reading the last couple of chapters through my tear filled eyes. Maybe it was my hopelessly romantic heart and nothing else, but those tears truly made me love this book so much more

I obviously loved this one. The five stars give it away. The main character's character growth is pretty good in my opinion, but the love story is so romantic. I feel so stupid saying that. My only defense is that I know how she felt about not being able to fully tell the world who she loves.

           I felt like the characters in this book were really stunning. Henri was so kind and optimistic in an almost childish way. Kile was devoted and funny. Hale was sweet and honest. Ean was quiet but listened so well. However I was so glad she chose Erik (Eikko) in the end. Eadlyn (Main character) was somewhat annoying at times but I thought she really grew as a character overall. She went from undereducated on the true state of the country and cold to educated and open hearted. Madrid was super annoying with all of his stealing the crown crap. No like seriously. General Ledger even said not to trust him (foreshadowing). General Ledger was so sweet (favorite General Ledger quote- "Say that again. I'm not afraid to make death my go to move." referring to Andrews calling Eadlyn a commodity. I was so shocked that Lady Brice was Eadlyn's aunt and it was a very happy yet unexpected twist. My only complaint is how in the world did she get away with anything in the end? Like I'm sure if Maxon thought it was a good idea to make a constitutional monarchy he would of done it and how is she gonna announce one engagement then flip and decide she wants someone else. I feel like the country definitely would have been angered by that.

1.5. I’m feeling generous. This is by far the most predictable and unexciting, unimaginative and tedious book. Especially having read the prequels. Really the only two good things were Maxon and the fact that it was short. So that’s the half star.

Eadlyn grew up so fast, and had to make so many difficult choices, thinking not only about her people, her family, but specially, about herself, and I think that was the hardest part for her. No puedo creer que tenga que despedirme finalmente de esta saga.

Durante este final vemos crecer a Eadlyn que finalmente se ha ganado mi cariño. El personaje evoluciona muchísimo y demuestra madurez, claro, aún con sus airecitos de grandeza un poco más moderados, eso sí.

Un dato curioso es que durante este libro finalmente Aspen Leger se ganó mi cariño. Vaya Aspen, cuatro libros y cuatro historias cortas después..., toda una proeza.

Sentí que la autora quiso reivindicarlo y mostrarlo como un hombre noble y leal, y... ella quería que los que no acabábamos de quererlo lo hiciéramos, y lo logró, ¿para qué engañarnos?

Regresando a lo principal, hubo muchísimas cosas por las que yo me quedé como O.o what?! 
Había tantas cosas que no me esperaba.

Tengo problemas serios.

Algo que no dije en la mini reseña del libro anterior. Es que Maxon no ha cambiado mucho a través de los años, sin embargo América sí. Me recordó mucho a la reina Amberly, y ahora era más apegada a las reglas y más serena... la cambiaron mucho. Pero supongo que es lo que tocaba, ella debía crecer y convertirse en un ejemplo para sus súbditos.

Por otro lado... hablemos del chico que eligió Eadlyn. Sin Spoilers. 
La verdad es que en el fondo ya sabía que sería él, porque la autora nos dejó muchas pistas durante los dos libros. Y no me molesta porque estuvo muy bien, y porque es un gran chico y porque lo que vale es el amor verdadero... y porque sí que le tenía cierto aprecio. Así que Eadlyn, tú muy bien.

Como dato extra diré que leí gracias a unas chicas de Facebook el epílogo extra de La Corona, que no estoy segura si es oficial o no, pero que me hizo darme cuenta de lo mucho que me gustan los finales felices.

so i read the heir and im kind of hoping she picks kile but then that would seen like an obvious ending to the book because they already knew each other but kiles just great so yeah hope he wins. and josies pretty annoying but its just funny to read parts with her so i kind of like her.

also erik isn't in the competition but that would be a great plot twist but i kinda just want her to send henri home because how can you love someone if you cant even talk to them and he cant really run a country without knowing their language but yeah okay.

i also like hale because hes just nice and he likes fashion so thats fun. but fox is kinda just there and then the fight so eh no thanks.

but yeah i havent started this book im super excited and i hope kile wins :)

update -
after i read the crown:
im so disappointed in this book. it was eh okay (two stars) but i really expected more. i didnt really like the heir as much as the first three books but wow im really sad right now.

first things first. she was basically queen the entire book even though she was regent then queen. i really think this book focused way too much on the political state of the country and not the selection.

and my gosh ERIK. ugh i really liked kile but i kinda hated that she banished him. but eriks okay i guess. and i wouldve hated the book more if she married henri because i didnt really like him because he cant speak english but yeah that was good. but im happy that kile is doing the building stuff but i really saw him with eadlyn but eh eriks good too.

also i hated marid because he just wanted the crown and i like his parents so i was disappointed in him. and with the engagement rings. like really. how did everyone just think it was for the queen. it couldve been anyone even though they were expensive.

so yeah i wanted kile, i got erik, i hate marid, and i wish cass just stopped at the trilogy with america and maxon.

The characters growth was amazing. It also helped me understand her actions in the last book. 
I totally knew who she was gonna end up with.
Though I'm super disappointed i didn't catch on to the very gay signs that were everywhere.

Woof, These books have been a guilty pleasure for me since they first came out. but man oh man, it's beyond obvious the author is very, very done with this series.
To sum it all up in one word I'd pick Rushed. Beyond rushed, I read this book in one day , it was so short, so boring. It lacked any direction what so ever, it was obvious the author had no plan for this book, she just powered through it to be done with it. The character development was thrown out the window, all relationships for forced , quick, and developed for the most part in this book. Even though my pick prevailed it felt so hollow, I had picked him because she was developing something, but then she chose to just end it, and all that development came to a sudden realization and confession, that while was expected or hoped for, in context to the story came somewhat out of nowhere. This sudden revelation causes the rest of the characters to be suddenly dealt with and swiftly disposed of in equally rushed and unrealistic and underdeveloped fashion.
 Absolutely not plot development or conflict transferred from the last book to this. Short of America's heart attack and everyone not liking Eadlyn. All conflict was introduced in this book and amounted to literally nothing, and was so underdeveloped that it was laughable. The villain is so hollow and silly, it's beyond YA, Disney wouldn't write such a weak villain even for its youngest of viewers. The rest of the conflict was just single sentence cases of people being difficult unrealistically for the sake of advancing the plot. Non of the characters acted remotely realistically or logically, and suddenly they all had the same personality.
Ugh it was just bad.
The rest of these books are the kind of silly and bad that's good. They're absolutely silly but I can't put them down and love them. This one was just bad. It's like she just let someone else write it for her. It had no heart, no plan, no direction. It had no point.
It was a waste of my Sunday and a total disappointment to these guilty pleasures. It left me unsatisfied and feeling poorly toward the whole series. 
It's obvious the author has moved on, and I'm interested to see if her heart is hiding in The Siren, because it sure as hell wasn't in this.

I enjoyed this, as I enjoyed the Heir, but honestly, the last two books in this series didn't need to be written. The One was a satisfying conclusion to an incredible trilogy, and Eadlyn's story just didn't live up to America's. She never develops a really memorable relationship with any of the boys except Kile, from what I understood. I was okay with her choice, but not over the moon. There were so many problems Eadlyn faced throughout the book and it seemed like all of them were wrapped up quickly in the last chapter so everything could end. Basically, I didn't care about these newer characters as much as I cared about America and Maxon.
