The Crown

Evelyn really grew into herself in this book. I loved seeing how her relationships with the boys that were leftover blossom; you could tell she really cared about all of them. With these new relationships, she really learned a lot about herself and realized the kind of person she wanted to be. I did think it was a bit odd that her parents never really told her anything about their selection, but I guess it would be hard for them to talk about. The ending did feel a bit rushed, though I understand the need for it, I wish we had gotten a bit more of them at the end.

Great book, but I feel like she didn’t even know Eikko… Thank god for Eadlyn’s (and Josie’s!) character development. Definitely loved Maxon’s reaction to the angry advisors after Eadlyn announced the constitutional monarchy. Also fun how we got even more info about the time before Eadlyn even existed, Lady Brice’s story was great. Ean and Hale were a surprise too! Everything that happened in the end, I had not seen coming at all.

i loved lady brice’s story (although was adding it in the very last chapter the best option? idkkk), & i also loved eadlyns character improvement… you could 100% see how mature she’d become!

I absolutely loved this book!!!! Eadlyn grew up so fast, and had to make so many difficult choices, thinking not only about her people, her family, but specially, about herself, and I think that was the hardest part for her. I love how she thinks, I love her grumpy and decisive way of acting, I love Eadlyn Helena Margarete Schreave!!!!!!!! *screams in finnish*

Okay I didn’t love her choice (mostly because I rooted for someone else the whole time), but I still loved this book. 
<<spoiler>> I was rooting for Kile. I’m a sucker for childhood friends to lovers stories. I honestly didn’t see Erik being it coming even though it was pretty obvious. Love love loved Lady Brice’s plot line. I also loved that Josie and Eadlyn ended up with an understanding and, dare I say, appreciation, for each other. Like I said, would have loved for her to marry Kile and was hoping he’d somehow without her mentioning it design a pool for the palace since she’d always wanted it but whatever. I love Kiera Cass’s writing style and I definitely want to read more by her.

This can either go two ways.

1. I absolutely love the way this book ends and I am content with Eadlyn's character development (if any) and that she picks the right boy. And of course, America (view spoiler)[doesn't DIE? (hide spoiler)]

2. Eadlyn remains the same spoiled, super self conscious brat who doesn't know her people at all and picks a boy that can live without her. Oh, and America (view spoiler)[dies. (hide spoiler)]

Me ha gustado bastante, aunque he sentido el final muy abrupto, todo ha pasado muy rápido y se ha acabado. Me hubiera gustado que todos los acontecimientos finales ocurrieran a lo largo del libro. Pero al menos el romance me ha gustado.

My review: This was such a great ending to such a good series. I am so sad that the series is over, but I couldn’t be happier with the way it ended. The character growth in this series is so beautiful and so interesting. It’s always bittersweet to finish such a good series because you want to read more, but you also know that being happy with the way a series ends is so rare. I’m just happy it ended the way it did although I’m selfishly sad it won’t continue

😭 I binged on this so hard for Valentine's Day/President's Day Weekend. So addictive, and so we'll done. I absolutely love love love this series.

This book was once again so much fun! It was not of extremely good quality. But it was such an enjoyable experience and I would say it was maybe the best of all.

The main character is so stupid and I just love her for that! I really enjoy a heroine that is a bit of an idiot and stubborn and a bit mean too (maybe because I can identify with that? ugh) so she was perfect for me as she really turned up the drama and the fun.

The boys were a bit unrealistically nice, but I enjoyed them anyway. I knew she was going to pick (view spoiler)[Erik but I thought her relationship with Kile looked cute too. (hide spoiler)]

I don’t have much more to say as I insist on reviewing books way too late and I completely forget all of it. But definitely this was a great conclusion to this books and definitely my favourite by this author.

Read this straight through - after a false start where I realized I needed to reread The Heir to know what was going on. Enjoyable if mostly predictable. Ending maybe wrapped things up a wee bit too neatly.

Perfect ending!!! 

The last 30 pages had me worrying, I needed Eadlyn to have a happy ending the same way America did! 

I cannot believe i started this series, fell in love with it, and finished it all within one month! I couldn't put the book down. 

This is a book world I will go back to annually, every year. I loved every moment of it, through all the tears, and grins, gasps, and laughters. Each book had its own plot twisted that I could never have seen coming, and I loved it!

The queen’s had a heart attack after knowing about her son absence; this leaves the princess in a really tight spot. She decides to cut down her candidates leaving only the boys that have been able to wake something inside her. She also will have to act as ruler as his father seems unable to do it being as he is too worried about his life. Eadlyn founds herself in a tight position since she will have to make choices that will change her future.

“The Crown” was a good book, however it cost me a ton to get into it since it has been a long time since I read the last book in the series. Apart from that, the book was enjoyable and fine, but was not one of those books that really make a difference. I liked the plot and how it developed, however I did had a problem with the book and it was regarding the love interest, because I did not see it coming until these book. Maybe I did see him having feelings towards her but until the very end of this book I did not see her having any feelings for her. And I do not like when a relationship feels rushed and nonsense.

“The Crown” was a good book however if you have read until the third book of the series I would not recommend reading the last to books. These spin-off series within the selection series felt like an add-on, something made to continue on with the series but that was not really necessary.

I enjoyed this more than The Heir, but still less than the first three books. I was happy with Eadlyn's choice but I felt like the whole book was so so predictable, that I knew who it was going to be the moment he was introduced. Eadlyn was (thankfully) also less irritating in this one. Regardless, it was still a quick and fun read.

The Crown is definitely better than the Heir, but both are only great in light of the Selection Series. On their own, I wouldn't recommend, but in conjunction reading them with the Selection series, they are wonderful. It's fantastic jumping back in and seeing the characters you love from the first three books. I find Eadlyn a bit annoying, but the love story is cute and that is ultimately why I kept reading.

The best part is the relationship built. I am happy to find so many beautiful relationships, between America and Ms. Marlee, Henri and Erik (or Eikko, agree with Eadlyn that Eikko was better), Eadlyn with all the Elite, even Eadlyn and Josie that finally made up. And the book told me those kinds of relationships only can be built by the kindness of heart. It's touching plus successfully remind me to open my eyes and feel empathy for others is very important things.

This was such a sweet ending to the story. Eadlyn got her happy ending. Her brother married his true love and she pulled the country together.
