With 5 million copies sold in the UK alone, one might consider Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events to make him one of the most successful children’s authors of the past decade. We, however, consider these miserable so-called adventure stories and the Hollywood film starring Jim Carrey that accompanied the books for children as nothing more than a dreadful mistake.

I'm so sad that this series is over! But the ending is as good as can be, very fitting to the overall atmosphere but still not short of surprises and twists. Again, the Netflix series adds something amazing with you-know-who, making it a bit more round than the books alone. At some point I will definitely buy and read the physical books, partly to see the illustrations but really as an excuse to keep the series in my life.

I am left with so many questions. I don't really feel like this was ending dis any justice to the series. Very disappointed.
