Renn smiled softly, his eyes reflecting the wisdom of countless star systems. "Ah, an observant question, Alia. Remember, Asimov was writing in an era where the cosmos of science fiction was mostly populated by men, both as creators and consumers of the narratives. The women of that time were, unfortunately, overlooked."

"But that's deeply unfair," Alia replied, a firm resolve in her voice.

"Indeed," Renn agreed, his gaze steady on his young student. "But take solace in the fact that Asimov later included notable female characters in his works. In 'Foundation's Edge' and 'Foundation and Earth', the character Bliss plays a significant role. Progress, though sometimes slow, is inevitable."

"So, we've evolved from those times?" Alia asked.

"Yes, our society has evolved," Renn affirmed. "Modern adaptations of these works, like the 'Foundation' series on the Hypernet, have made efforts to address this imbalance, featuring a gender-balanced cast of characters.
