So I have been itching to read The King ever since I heard of its release. I am such a fan of Wrath and Beth. These two are so solid together and I think what held me back from reading this one was the multiple plot lines. And even though the other plot lines weren't something I really had a huge interest in, probably because I haven't touched base with some of the later books in the series so I was a bit lost at times. So I didn't get too involved in some of them. I was slightly intruged by Xcor and Layla, just because I saw them in "The Beast" and I do know they have a book of their own so I was curious to see what happened between them in this one. Some of the other characters we see that play a pivotal role in this book are:

Wrath and Anya---I loved loved this side plot line. We get a chance to take a glimpse into the love that Wrath's parents shared for each other. There are some heartbreaking moments of course, but we see how strong they were together and love seeing where Wrath comes from and his legacy.

Trez-I didn't have much interest in this character at all...I was having a "meh" feeling with him

Assail-I had a hard time with this one, just couldn't connect and mostly skimmed when I realized I had little desire for this character or the plot line Ward includes.

Then we finally have our beloved Wrath and Beth. Now these two are struggling a bit. Wrath is busy with his Kingly duties and we see how its really putting him down. He is struggling still with being King and trying to live up to his parents, most especially his father. But when Beth shares her strong desire to have a baby, Wrath is over the top against it, to the point that it divides this lovely pair in a way they have never been divided. They both really struggle but ironically this is not the toughest battle they will have to face together. And man I think I fell in love with this couple even more strongly before.

  
    
      
        “I want you to know something,” he said into her hair. As she went still, he tried to pull something worth hearing out of his ass. Some string of words that were even in the same zip code as what was doing in his chest.

“What?” she whispered.

“You are everything to me.”

It was so incredibly, totally not enough- and yet she sighed and melted into him like that was all she wanted to hear. And a bag of chips.

We see how they struggle with challenges after getting their "HEA" from Dark Lover. We see the way they become even stronger even if its tough for them to get there. I love seeing how their relationship grows into a more stronger bond and how both Beth and Wrath become even better people because of the challenges they are faced with.

Its so poignant and tender in moments that will make you tear up because the moments these two have can be heart wrenching but also so romantically sweet and powerful. J.R. Ward definitely delivers on all the feels.

Celeste Richardson

This book returns to Wrath and Beth as main perspective characters, and getting to catch up with them and see how their lives are changing in radical ways was enjoyable. Wrath is just such a compelling character, and the struggles he faces both as king and individual make him incredibly sympathetic. I also really enjoyed getting some of his parents’ story. I feel like this is a good place to hit pause in the series, because the ending of this particular installment is very satisfying.

I really should have had more self control and worked on the books I am supposed to be reading but everybody needs a break sometimes. I found the flashbacks of Wrath's parents distracting and I hate the Xcor and Layla plotline she is setting up. This felt more like a bridge book connecting plotlines than a happily ever after couple book. Not my favorite book in the series--falls somewhere in the middle.

que puedo decir? ame este libro y esta historia con mi vida
cuando comencé a leer esta saga Beth y Wrath fueron mi primer amor al instante. 
pero esta historia sacio todas las ganas que tenia de saber que habia pasado con ellos a lo largo de toda la saga y he quedado definitavmente satisfecha.
por otra parte las historias que se iban contando de Xcor y de Trez y de iAm me fascinaron. Es increible como en un solo libro me hizo entender todo un mundo. 
Aunque he quedado con ganas de mas y mas de estos libros y no quiero que jamas se acaben debo decir que es una de las mejores sagas que he leido y Ward, has hecho un excelente trabajo con estos muchachos, han sido parte de mi vida por tanto tiempo que no se como decirles adios en este momento, sin embargo, si debo decirles gracias.

ahora bien, la portada fue otra cosa que ame y adore con mi vida. EL TRONO, jamas me lo habia imaginado de esa manera pero ha sido una de mis portadas favoritas y admito que tenia muchas ganas de leer este libro.

Finalmente les digo que si no lo han leido aun HAGANLO, escribanme si quieren y les envio el pdf y si no van a arrepentir nunca de hacerlo.
