I am not sure how I feel about this book. I accidentally had one of the major plot twists spoiled for me very early in my reading of this book, so that may have skewed my idea of this book a lot. 

I will say that I am slowly but surely getting into a murder mystery state of reading, and I am not sure what has brought it on. This book was one that only fueled that desire for me to read more mystery books and Sherlock!

The idea that Sherlock was both the antagonist and the protagonist intrigued me to keep reading this, despite the slower parts of the book, and there are a lot of slower moving parts. 

Thinking back on this book it makes sense that Sherlock would be Jack the Ripper. He has the knowledge to mutilate the victims and also the knowledge of how to get around the city without being caught. Sherlock insisted that Jack would be a man of high stature and gentlemanly raising, and that should have been a red flag if nothing else was. 

Overall, I enjoyed this book and was mostly captivated but I do think this book could have picked up a little more, rather than being dragged for so long.
