Had so much fun reading The Lies We Tell (The Four #1) by Becca Steele. Winter has her hands full with "The Four" best freinds who rule Alstone College.

Caiden - The sexy, hot-and-cold, alpha jerk
Cassius - The man whore, comic relief
Weston - The most welcoming
Zayde - The mysterious of them all

Winter's character was good and loved that she was able to hold her own with the guys. Had me giggling a few times. Love her and Caiden the hero, the angst was good with some fun banter. But what made the book for me was the different personalities with The Four and especially Cassius playful attitude towards Winter that help break up some of the angst. As much as I loved Caiden, I totally adored Cassius character. Anytime he got page time which is a good amount like all them had me smiling. A good person to have in your corner and would love to have his own book and see a heroine get under his skin.

There is a big secret one of The Four is keeping and I am afraid for when this does come out it is going to break my heart. Really just touched the suspense part on Winters dads death so I am thinking book 2 is going to be full of secrets and betrayal.

The Lies We Tell captured my attention from the first chapter and I immediately wished I had not started it minutes before my shift at work! Fortunately for me, it was a slow day at work and I was able to read about 70% during my 8-hour shift. 

I did go into this book thinking it would be a Reverse Harem, why, I don't know because no one had said anything about it being and Rh. Just to clarify, it is NOT an RH lol. This book had everything I was looking for in a bully romance: The nice tough girl, the really really hot rich guys, the cars, the bullying, the lame but somehow cool group name for the guys, the suspense of the mystery, and of course, the medium-that-quickly-turned-into-fast-burn romance. 

If you love bully romances, then this is the series for you! It has everything we want, but with its own personality. Steele did an amazing job making each guy their own person and not just a collective blob that all formed one whole. The hate-to-love romance is between Caiden and Winter, but honestly, if we don't get a book about Zayde, I WILL RIOT! Lol just kidding...maybe. 

I love Caiden, he is THE king and knows it. He has a dominant personality with a heartbreaking past that lets you see exactly why he is the way he is. From the moment he sees Winter, he loathes her. He feels attracted to her and hates the feelings she incites because she might be like her evil, uncaring, huge pain in the a** mother (his stepmother). But underneath all that, is such a sweetheart that, after years of pushing every who could maybe get close to her heart, has major trust issues and is a little bit naive with love. 

Winter is tough, caring, and sassy (We love that). She's tough and can handle a lot of stuff thrown her way, but she sure can have a good cry when she needs to and is not afraid to show "weakness" and honestly, I'm here for it. Very often in dark romances, we get the heroine who doesn't allow herself to cry in front of others or doesn't show any emotion. I really appreciated that because, hey, not everyone can deal with all of that and still be perfectly normal.

When I got to the end I honestly was not expecting that cliffhanger to really do me like that and I'm so glad that the second was already published. I started reading book 2 right away because I just needed to know what happened next! I really enjoyed this book and I'm happy I finally picked it up! I had been seeing so many people rave about this book and it is deserved!

i really need to take a break from reading bully romances because at this point they're all starting to sound the same. i appreciated the fact that the heroine wasn't a doormat, but the couple was the most uninteresting thing about this book for me; i just didn't feel their chemistry nor the development of their relationship. so much so, that i was more invested in the mystery about the death of the heroine's father and her mother's possible involvement in it than on the couple itself. this ends on a cliffhanger of sorts so i might pick up the next one just to know what happened.

This has such a good mystery and the romance is amazing. So much angst to start and then sooo satisfying when it all comes together, with insane levels of heat.
I love when relationships are more like "us against the world" instead of "will they won't they" for most of the story. This had the perfect balance of both!
This was a very satisfying read and I'm looking forward to reading the spin off books coming about the other guys

Where do I even begin? 

I’m a sucker for an enemies to lovers romance and Miss. Steele definitely did not disappoint. I thought Luke and Liv’s chemistry was hot, but wait until you read Caiden, Winter and The Four! 

“We’re not doing this.” 

Oh yes, Winter, my girl, we certainly are. This story brings heat, suspense, humor and wit all rolled into one. The mystery keeps you guessing and there are twists and turns even I didn’t see coming. Cassius (who is mine BTW), Weston and Zayde are all fantastic (and super hot) additions and I can’t wait for their stories! But I need the rest of this one so chop chop Becca! 🖤

Eeeny, Meeny, Miney, Mo, the four are coming for us all.

Wow! This book was hot!! If you've read Corrupt or The Titans of Founder's Ridge series, you'll definitely like this one! 
After her father's sudden death, Winter is starting over at a new university, Alstone College. But the four boys who rule the school are on a mission to make Winter's life hell. And her new stepbrother Caiden is the worst of them all. As Winter uncovers more about the circumstances of her father's death, she learns it was no accident. The Four are making her life hell... but she can't deny the attraction she feels to Caiden. 

This book is full of suspense and intrigue, as well as hot romance. It's got that classic rich bully romance feel to it, and I love that. The characters are so interesting, and I want to read about all of them. I loved the tension and the banter. And the relationships that developed with Winter and all of the Four. I won't say too much about the plot so that I avoid any spoilers, but oh man. It's fast paced, full of mystery and suspense, and hot hot hot. I can't wait to dive into the second book, and I highly recommend that you have it ready for the second you finish this one!
