I won’t lie, getting to this book took quite a while. The second was not what I would call an easy read. But boy oh boy was it worth it just to get to this one.

Now I will be the first to admit that I could have helped myself with these had i read them all back to back. It would have been better to keep all the events, names and details at the forefront on my head. There are a lot of details and I think the pay off for remembering them would be well worth it.

This is likely a series I will reread again at some point. I wonder how much more of enjoyable it will be with the hindsight (foresight?) given by already knowing the end.

This series was so much better than I could have ever imagined. The world is so fascinating and complex that it feels real and it’s characters are so achingly human in the struggles that they face and the choices they must make. This final book in the trilogy was masterful, and I was torn between wanted to finish to have all the answers, and never wanting to finish, never wanting to leave this world and these characters. This final novel is ultimately a love letter to true friendships and the love you can develop for your found family. I can’t articulate how beautifully these books were woven together with twists and turns and mystery. While I did guess the two big reveals a little before the end, they are so good I didn’t even care and I’m not sure most would catch the final one. Overall I’m almost wishing I could forget these books just so I can read them for the first time all over again.

I think this book is my favourite of the trilogy. Very satisfying and emotional ending. I am not ready to let these characters go ... especial Caeden. It was a daunting task to tackle reading such a long, complex story but the commitment of my time and my faith in the author was amply and strongly rewarded. A new favourite to add to my forever shelves.
